1955.1 Chevrolet first series 3600, 5 window 3/4 ton pickup truck.235 six cylinder with full-pressure oiling and insert bearings, 4 speed transmission, all tires are brand new 10 ply truck tires, (spare tire is older but never been used). New starter. New battery. Recent new seat upholstery. Side mount spare. It has new embossed upper door panels, (just needs trim screws to be installed), it also has the original lower door panels, (metal), that attach with plain sheet metal screws. It also has new, from Eckler's, full rubber floor mat with marked cut outs for shift lever and pedals. Runs and drives good. Glass is all good. The original wood bed has deteriorated and needs a new wood bed kit installed, (these start around $600 and are an easy Saturday afternoon job). The ring gear for the starter has worn and should be replaced but still starts easily enough. It would make a good daily driver or project for a very simple rehab. Original except for being converted to 12 volt electrical system and original green paint covered in gray. Very minimal rust on at least one of the cab corner, (could be repaired or replaced). Parts for these trucks, including sheet metal, are plentiful, fairly priced and easily found. This early 1955 was the last of the classic Advanced Design trucks produced by Chevrolet that consisted of the most iconic and collectible pickup trucks ever made.This very rare milestone truck is the very end of production for this classic design being replaced half way through the 1955 model year with the second series, or theTask Force Seriesthat carried Chevrolet on the through the remainder of the 1950's.Current tag with clean Oklahoma title.
