For sale is a 1966 Chevrolet C10 Suburban “Custom” (Factory A/C) option restoration/restomod that has been completely gone through front to back; essentially all major mechanical parts have been replaced or rebuilt. The work was done by a professional restoration shop with zero miles since completion. This 66 Suburban was registered and driven in Albuquerque for most if not all of its life from what we can tell and as such, the rockers, doors, body mounts, quarter panels, sliding window channels, and other areas of concern are in excellent condition. According to the VIN number, this Suburban was manufactured at the Fremont, CA, plant so it has not been in rust prone U.S. locations since it was manufactured. We have a clean title in hand so the transaction will be very straightforward.
The major components include a rebuilt Chevrolet 350 engine, rebuilt 700r4 automatic transmission, new driveshaft, power four wheel disc brakes, power steering, tilt column, Dakota Digital analog style gauges, Lokar shifter. Flaming River steering column, Clifford auto alarm, Painless wiring harness, Steele rubber window gaskets, Sanden style A/C compressor with new under hood components from Old Air Products and other C10 catalog replacement parts from well known restoration aftermarket parts companies. The engine has a mild cam for torque, a Edelbrock manifold and 650 cfm carburetor that has been re-jetted for tuning purposes, new exhaust manifolds, new HEI distributor, and all new belt driven components on the engine. The new 90 amp alternator provides the required amperage for the Painless wiring circuits and the electric radiator fan. There are two inch drop springs in the rear and two inch drop spindles in front to give it that nice stance with a slight rake towards the front. A C10 sway bar was installed in front and all new suspension, steering box and steering components. The interior has been replaced including the headliner, seat upholstery, carpet, and upper/lower and firewall insulation. The windshield and door glass is new and all related weatherstripping including restoring the vent windows with new seals. All glass run channel strips were replaced to include the rear for sliding glass assemblies. Most of the weatherstripping was manufactured Steele Rubber and Precision. The wheels and tires are new with GM rally style Wheels Vintique Chrome Rims.
