1966 Chevrolet C-10 Short Stepside, Custom Cab, Big Rear Window Additional Info:

You are going to pay $2,500-$7,000 to get a decent 1966 Chevy or GMC short bed pickup that needs full restoration. All the time consuming and difficult restoration work is already done on this one. Ready for drive-train installation. Most are 6 cylinders with a truck 4 speed. Many have been farm trucks and have been used and abused over the years. This is an outstanding foundation to finish from.

Numbers matching (frame/cab) 1966 Chevy C10. It has the big rear window custom cab and is an original (Not cut down) short wheel base step side. Have over $10,000 in receipts to date. Frame is dusty from being in body shop, but is bright glossy black when clean.
Tons of time and money have already gone into this project. The frame was sandblasted, primed and painted in gloss black. All brand new KYB lifetime gas shocks. Front brakes converted from drum to brand new disc brakes and new power steering box added. Front end has new 2.5" dropped spindles and rear has new 4" lowering springs with shock relocation mounts. All brand news suspension parts including poly bushing throughout. Rear differential is a 3:73 posi with brand new overhaul including new ring and pinion. A new rear mount gas tank (18 gal.) is installed behind the axle to relocate it from the cab. Frame is ready for drive train installation. No engine or transmission. Has door and rear glass, but there no windshield.
All sheet metal work is done. All rust areas were cut out and replaced with brand new steel. Cab corners, rockers, bottom of front fenders, cab floor areas where rusted, etc. Everything was sandblasted, primed and coated with POR 15 to eliminate any future rust issues. Doors are very straight and any rust issues repaired. Block sanding is all that is required prior to painting
The short step-side bed is brand new from Mar K and it is perfect. The original rear fenders have no spare cut outs and were sandblasted, repaired where rust was found and POR 15 applied. These are the correct 1966 one-year only rear fenders with back up light cut outs. About 30 items were powder coated gloss black including inner fenders and many brackets. This was a Step-Side pickup from the factory.
Normally the bed floor for the step-side is oak or pine, but it requires constant maintenance. I purchased Brazilian Walnut composite decking material and had it cut to factory specs. The bed strips were powder coated in a flat black. This is a floor that looks good and should provide great durability. Have lots of brand-new hardware for bed, cab, etc. Have an excellent front bumper with correct bumper guards and mounts without visible carriage bolt heads showing. Welded studs on back of bumper.
Have a 1960 dual headlight grille for it. (Only produced one year). Includes many boxes of extra parts. New and used.
Brand new chrome tilt GM column in the box for this truck. Has V8 motor mounts (powder-coated) and the correct automatic transmission cross member (powder coated). Comes with a 90's bench seat.
Fully restored, these trucks are selling for up to $50,000+ at Mecham and Barrett-Jackson auctions. I have over $10,000 in receipts for what has been done to date and I know I am going to lose money.
Have a free and clear Idaho title. Hate to sell it, but ran out of shop space, energy (67) and money.
The last picture showing is of the last 1966 I built. It shows how this one will look and how it looks lowered 2.5" in front and 4" in the rear. The picture also shows what the 1960 grille looks like, compared to the 63-66 grilles. This also has been modified to the 5-lug bolt pattern for great wheel options including American Torque Thrust D mags shown in last pic. Correct vintage for this pickup.

Bring a trailer and some cash and its yours. Needs paint, wiring, drive-train to complete.
