Restoring a vehicle to top condition is tough, but getting one to look like this 1961 Chevrolet C10 Restomod pickup borders on art. At first glance, yes, it looks like a work truck with a custom paint job, but that's little more than a professionally executed illusion. With custom, one-off finishes being a hot commodity today, this truck combines the best of that yesterday look with a an updated "Punisher" full body wrap covering the sheetmetal, and a fully reconstituted... driveline and upgraded suspension that is powerful, reliable, and expertly finished. This sinister C10 is ready to scare the neighbors. Underneath that "Punisher" wrap job is quality American sheetmetal that's painted purple (yeah, we'd have covered it up too), and I'm guessing that this truck never really worked very hard in its life. Before that killer wrap went on, the rear bumper was deleted and a roll pan was installed, the tailgate was welded shut and smoothed, the trim on the cab was blacked-out, and the door handles were painted red, and all those custom touches set the stage for a truck that's been turned all the way up to 11. It's nicely assembled, too, with no sagging bed, no cranky doors, and a hood that latches easily. Even the bed was carefully crafted to match, featuring dark finished wood planks anchored with dark red slats, and matte fenders and interior walls that match the exterior paint scheme. But there's some nice flash too, with a newer front bumper, grille, and headlight buckets providing great contrast to the darkened theme of the entire wrap. Oh, and there's a gigantic skull (aka the Punisher logo) on the hood too, in case it was too subtle to catch your eye... The interior continues to impress, where it is a neatly executed, full custom cab with a ton of upgrades that still manages to maintain a decent amount of originality. The bench seat is upholstered in brown cloth similar to what might have been found in '61, there are racing seat belts that have been added for safety, the gray carpets were put in place of the original rubber mat, and the door panels, dash, and headliner are painted the same purple that's underneath the wrap, so if you ever decide to take it off, you'll be all matched-up. A restored dashboard houses a custom instrument panel full of aftermarket gauges perched behind the tilt steering column and Grant wheel, along with auxiliary units under the dash and a tachometer mounted up top. For entertainment, you get a Kenwood AM/FM/CD/AUX/Satellite head unit that powers the speakers inside the cab. The interior could stand a little tidying up and maybe even some upgrades, but it's still a very comfortable place to spend some time while people pass by and gawk at the exterior. The builders didn't skimp on the driveline, either, and forget a wheezing inline-six under the hood. Instead, this one now packs a thumping 454 cubic inch V8 motor and 700R4 4-speed automatic transmission with a shift kit that can chirp the tires if you put your foot in it and have some fun. A Carter AFB 4-barrel carburetor lives under an open-element air cleaner, and handsome, finned M/T valve covers give it a detailed look under the hood that doesn't go overboard. There's a lot of newer hardware, including the alternator and big aluminum radiator up front, and it comes with both power steering and Wilwood 4-disc power brakes with drilled and slotted rotors. Long-tube headers, a great-sounding dual exhaust system, and a refinished frame greet you underneath, along with a durable 10-bolt rear end out back. Ridetech adjustable shocks up front and QA1 adjustable coilovers in the rear mean the already wicked stance can be set even more aggressively, and the truck handles and rides great thanks to all the newer hardware underneath, including big sway bars fore and aft. The killer stance is perfect in our opinion, and it sits on black Fuel wheels and staggered 245/45/18 front and 315/30/20 rear performance radials that fill the wheel wells perfectly. This is an extremely cool truck. If you're into a custom look, but don't care much for keeping an old warhorse running, this is the truck for you.
