1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 Additional Info:

This is a survivor, unrestored 1969 Camaro with numerous rare Z/28 parts. I cannot confirm that this was a factory Z/28, however there are many indicators that increase the likelihood.
In the mid 80's the previous owner blew the engine and replaced the engine with a 1968 327. However, the valve covers, intake manifold, pulleys and distributor are all original and correctly cast and stamped. The car was originally fathom green and had green interior, but a previous owner at some time changed the color to its current configuration. The factory 12 bolt posi rear end was replaced at some point during the fuel crisis in the late 70's and early 80's to help with fuel economy.
Unfortunately there is no documentation to prove that this was a real Z/28 from the factory. Being a early Los Angeles, CA plant car there were no X codes stamped on the cowl tag and the car would not have come with the typical cowl induction hood being it was an October 68' build. The car retains many of it's original Z/28 parts like:
- (3) of 4 AD stamped rally wheels
- 3946826RH, 3942527LH cast exhaust manifolds
- 3932472 aluminum Winters intake manifold
- 3932456DV water pump pulley
- 3956668CG crank pulley
The key identifier in this being a potential original Z/28 is the location of the speedometer cable location in the fire wall and the exhaust hanger bracket on the driver side.
This car has a Muncie 4 speed transmission and retains its original console gauges, clock, speedometer and 6000RPM tachometer that all work! Another very rare feature for this car is that it has a factory fold down back seat. There is a small quarter size rust spot on the fenders in the common camaro spots. Other than that, the floors, trunk and rest of the body are rust free. The body is very straight and the paint is in great condition for being unrestored.
