1989 Chevrolet Camaro RS Additional Info:
This 1989 Chevy Camaro RS convertible is one of only 3245 made, which makes it one of very very few left around, let alone running and in such good cosmetic condition.
It has a completely original 5.0 Liter V8 305 TBIengine and transmission.
The car was bought with 75,000 miles on it and its odometer today reads at 77,245. This car was only a summer weekend cruiser.
The car was always garage kept by the original, previous and current owners. It has NEVER EVER seen snow or road salt; this Third Gen Camaro was ONLY a summer car for with all of its owners. It was originally bought in Kentucky by its first owner, Ohio with its second and in Pennsylvania / New York with its current one.
The car's fuel was always stabilized / winterized and had its engine turned over at least once every month while in the garage.
What was updated:- The convertible top was professionally replaced in 2012 along with all the weatherstripping by Automat Customizing and Restoration in Long Island.- Interior upholstery was repaired and refreshed professionally as well by the same shop.- Engine and Transmission Mounts were all replaced.
- Engine maintained only with full synthetic oil.- Transmission Fluid was serviced by previous owner just prior to sale.- A/C was updated with EPA compliant refrigerant in a registered shop.- Various parts of the car were detailed / repainted / refreshed as necessary so its 95% scratch and dent free.- Both window motors were replaced.
What remains to be fixed:- Heater Core does not work, A/C and fan is good, Heat is not. (who needs heat in a convertible?)- Car occasionally throws check engine light after longer highway drives at speeds over 55mph (typical of an O2 sensor failure in these models, resets after engine shutoff.)- Driver's side window movement needs to be adjusted to better seal against weatherstripping.- Center Console spring / strut pops out every now and again and needs resetting or a permanent fix- Hood struts are no longer functioning and need replacing. Hood is currently kept open using a stick, included free of charge with purchase.- Radio has a cassette tape player whose belt snapped, radio AM / FM works fine.- Tires are older but still functional with no leaks, replacement is howeverrecommended.- Oil change and fluid top up recommended.
Disclaimers:- This 1989 Chevrolet Camaro RS is being offered for sale "As Is" with no current warranty and no warranty offered, explicitly, implied or otherwise.- All sales are final.- Cash Only Sale- Buyer Pickup Only Sale- Please review the information and disclosures in the listing.
