1968 Chevy 2nd Generation C20 3/4-ton Fleetside Custom Camper
Truck was purchased in Anaheim, CA but has otherwise been in Tucson since 1968. Odometer shows 18,646 miles, which may have turned over just once. Previous owner only drove it 21,000 miles over the 32 years he owned it. I’ve owned the truck for just a few months and have decided instead to purchase a 4-wheel drive pickup.
Body is solid, superficial rust is visible on drip rail around windshield and other areas. Rockers, kick panels, bottom corners of cab, cab floor supports, bottom of doors, firewalls, and under cowl have good metal integrity with no rust. A few minor dents on tailgate and body. No holes anywhere in truck and metal is strong, which is thanks in large part to the relatively dry Tucson climate.
Rebuilt 1977 Oldsmobile 403 with approximately 4,000 miles on it. Turbo Hydramatic transmission, headers, newer 4 barrel Edelbrook carburetor.
Truck has been gone through by local shop specializing in vintage truck repair. New radiator, new center support bearing, and new transmission linkage shifter shaft seal. Belts and electrical are in good shape. Starts easily and runs strong and smooth.
New 8-lug wheels and new tires with approximately 200 miles on them. Also have original Chevy hubcaps but they do not fit these wheels.
All turn signals, brake lights and other lights function (left turn signal periodically activates a honk from the horn, may be a malfunctioning switch)
Brakes are in good shape, truck drives straight and is a very comfortable ride.
Wood bed needs replacing (has plywood over the original), radio partially functional, cloth portion of seat needs replacing but all vinyl is in good shape (seat currently has slip-on seat cover). Truck does not have AC.
Priced $1,000 below retail at $8,790. NADA Guides value is $9,850https://www.nadaguides.com/Cars/1968/Chevrolet/C20/Pickup-3-4-Ton-Fleetside/Values. More information on these trucks can be found at https://www.classicmuscle.com/resources/chevy-ck-trucks-history.
These vehicles are getting rare and hard-to-come-by, especially with bodies and metal in decent condition. Please contact me with any questions.
