1993 was a great year for the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28. It was a totally new design, and was picked as the pace car for the Indianapolis 500. A little known fact is that a B4C special service package costing $3,885 was available from GM which could be ordered directly from the factory, ONLY by municipalities. These cars had five extra HP and five more pounds of torque than the rest of the 1993 z/28's. They were designed specifically to be used by state highway police departments, and ONLY 135 were ordered. Because they were used as highway police cars, they accumulated many miles quickly. Now the interesting part of the story: This car was ordered by a purchasing officer of the city of Greenwood, IN without permission. When the car arrived, and the department found out what had happened, the officer was forced to sell the car. Because the car was never put into police service, it was never drilled or modified for police lights, radar, siren or any other equipment. The car was purchased by a collector who took great care of it, and did not put many miles on the car. This plain jane sleeper B4C special service package car has just 21,207 miles, making it most likely the lowest milage one in existence. EVERYTHING works perfectly, it has never been hit, and even the original touch up paint has never been opened. It is in original showroom condition inside and out, except for some very small paint chips on the hood and trunk lid from highway driving. The car starts easily, drives and handles like new. Tires have been replaced, and have 90% tread remaining. This is an excellent pedigree, investment grade car that will only appreciate in the future.
