Jerry MacNeish certified as a real Z-28. #s match motor (restamp), trans & rear are #s match and original to this car. It is a factory red car too! Body of frame, factory correct restoration. The NCRS shipping report shows it was sold new at Dale Wegner Chevrolet in Harrisonburg VA. This one has the very rare Rally Sport option package. Everything from spiral shocks, to the smog pump to the original Z-28 only tire pressure decal. THE Z-28 LEGEND:... In 1968 the Z-28 dominated the racing scene winning championship Trans Am and NHRA titles. It was a full fledged race car offered to the public with a high performance motor, suspension, steering, cooling and much more. No automatic or air conditioning could be ordered. The motor was underrated at 290 hp, actual was 350. With some tuning it could hit 450! Rated to run up to 7,000 RPMs! UNDERSIDE: Completely detailed like it rolled out of the factory. Front end is completely rebuilt and has the assembly line markings. All of the metal is smooth including chassis and floors. Bottom of motor and the trans is spotless. Has proper brake and fuel lines, brake cables, spiral shocks. In back there is the original 3.73 posi- code BU and 4 leaf Z springs. It also has factory pierced hole for speedo cable in firewall that is unique to 4-speeds only. MOTOR COMPARTMENT: Detailed to original condition. Has smog equipment, correct hoses, clamps, battery cables, double alternator bracket, correct manifolds, original fan etc. Original dated Holley carb 7B1, OD radiator dated L 1967, alternator 7H10, Heads cast # 291, dated 1157. Has correct deep groove pulleys so the belts don't fly off at 7,000 RPMs. EXTERIOR: The paint is as slick as Teflon. Very smooth glossy finish, you can't feel the stripes. Notice the car has no Z-28 emblems anywhere, the early cars didn't. The body is arrow straight, clean metal, no rust. All of the chrome and trim are new or restored. The tail lights, stainless window moldings, stainless trim on top of the doors, bumper guards etc are beautiful. The windshield, weather strips and window seals are replaced. 15 inch rally wheels have the correct reproduction Wide Tread GT Goodyear reproduction tires. The Rally Sport package includes the hidden headlights, relocated reverse lights and door trim. INTERIOR: Is completely restored from carpet to headliner. Has tilt deluxe steering wheel, full gauge package, correct Muncie shifter with chrome ball. Inside the glove box door it has the original tire pressure decal, this is very important because it shows 15 inch wheel size. The only Camaro offered with that was the Z-28. TRUNK: Has very clean metal resprayed in gray spatter paint. Has the complete jack assembly, 15 inch rally wheel and a matching reproduction GT tire that's never been used.
