1977 Chevrolet G20 Van Additional Info:
1977 Chevy G10 van. Brought to Minnesota from the Seattle area about five years ago. Summer driven only - never seen road salt, no rot ever! This is a real survivor with all its original paint!Factory 350 / 4bbl, TH350, power brakes, manual steering, non-air conditioned. Runs and moves fine, but hasn't been driven lately - been in storage since fall 2017.
Interior in back is bare, a blank canvas for whatever you want. Has two nice leather buckets with folding armrests, mounted on original swivel bases. No moldy shag carpet, etc. to rip out... it's ready to use as-is, or convert to your liking. Weatherstripping around front and back door glass was replaced last fall, along with vent window hinges/latches (nice and tight - stay where you put them, lock when shut - as they should be!), and many other little things I can't recall at the moment.
Only rust on the van is in the front floor pan (few soft spots), which developed due to water intrusion from a cracked and leaking roof vent in years past - new vent installed, no more leak. The paint is in fair shape, with a bit of surface corrosion up high, but still shines up beautifully in spite of it. (Any white "speckles" you see are residuals from a quickie application of paste wax before it went into storage.)
There is some paint oxidization on the sliding door. Not sure what's up with that... was able to drastically reduce it on a test spot with machine buffing, whole door would likely clean up decently with a couple hours' worth. The last picture is a close-up of the sliding door, so you can see what I'm talking about. I can confirm that it is NOT primer, as some people have wondered... this van has no evidence of bodywork, no filler, etc. VERY clean and straight body!
The wheels are period Cragar SSes, 15", staggered with wide rims in back and skinnies in front. Front tires have lots of tread, but are old and showing some cracks between the treads (should be replaced). Backs are slightly more than a year old, have only a couple hundred miles on them, and are still like new.
There is a small bump on the right rear corner that I haven't attempted to push out, and an unaddressed chip in the windshield. Both minor issues - but now you know!
Clean Minnesota title in hand. Payment in full due upon pickup; must contact within 24 hours of auction close to set arrangements.
