1969 Chevrolet Impala Additional Info:
Up for bid is a 1969 Impala Station Wagon. It is a 4 door, 6 passenger. It has a 327, 2 barrel, Powerglide. The car has 53,103 original miles on it at the time of this listing (30 March 2016), but i drive it a little so it may go up a couple of hundred miles. I am the third owner. The original owner was a college professor. The second owner had the car for about 14 years, kept it in a garage, drove it a few hundred miles each year, and had aspirations of restoring it but never did. I bought the car last year, was going to keep it as a cool emergency back-up vehicle, but have decided to sell it as I need the funds for something else. I put Rally wheels on it. The original wheels go with the car. My Dad replaced the valve cover gaskets and said the engine looked like new under the valve-covers. The car starts right up and idles, runs, drives, accelerates, and stops like new. The transmission shifts perfectly. I ran the car through Pennsylvania's State inspection without any issues. Everything appears to work except for the radio...it lights up, but no sound. No PS, no AC. The car came with power-brakes, but the previous owner replaced the master cylinder and discarded the brake booster. The previous owner also removed the roof rack.
The lower front fenders are rusted. There is some minor rust on the corners of the rear fenders. There is some surface rust below the stainless trim, on each side of the car, along the rear side windows. There are a few small dents. All the rust and dents are visible in the attached pics. The front and rear bumpers are in decent shape, but would need re-chromed to be show. All the glass looks good. The stainless is nice. The other chrome (door handles, bezels, etc.) is decent. The dash is nice. The dash pad is not cracked. The grill looks good. The hood is nice. All of the doors open and close nicely, and all of the locks work. All of the windows roll up and down nicely. The interior is fair. The door panels are nice. The front seat has a tear on the left side (visible in the pics). The rear seat is pretty nice except for a small tear. The headliner is nice except for a single, good sized tear above the left rear door. When the tailgate is swung open, there is some rust on the surface under the tailgate (not on the tailgate), but it is not structural rust. The tailgate is solid. The chassis and floors have surface rust but are solid. Rockers, inner and outer are solid. Rocker moldings are missing. I do have the right side quarter panel trim strip that is missing in the pictures.
There ain't many of them left this solid...let alone with these kind of low miles ! Restore it, rat rod it, or cruise it as is !
