1977 Chevrolet Corvette Leather Additional Info:

Original and well preserved, this documented low mileage 1977 Corvette has had three titled owners and is in remarkably good shape for being more than forty years old. This Stingray was titled with 77,399 original miles in 1986 and the last long term owner confirmed that the car has only been driven a little over 12k miles in the last twenty years! This Stingray commands attention everywhere we have driven her. Please feel free to call us with any questions: (815) 373-8888.
EXTERIOR
The exterior body has received one repaint (color sanded and buffed) in its original factory Corvette yellow and save a few touch-ups on the front and rear bumpers, the paint still shines brilliantly over well defined body lines: as the car appears to have never been in an accident! All of the body panels still have their original bonding strips and no cracks or repairs are evident. The doors open and close nicely.
The car has a great stance on a brand new set of radial tires mounted to the factory rally wheels with trim rings and center caps. For an additional $400, I can swap out the Corvette rallies with a set of professionally polished factory optioned slotted aluminum wheelsif the buyer prefers the upgraded look! (I think the car originally came off the line with the factory optioned slotted aluminum wheels.)
The headlights pop up and down well and all of the exterior brake lights and turn signals work. The wipers work well too. The original factory weatherstrip is fair condition, not hard and brittle or broken but not like new either: when we wash the car, no water leaks inside. The original glass remains in place and is not damaged or scratched up. We also replaced the front plastic spoiler with a new reproduction. As you can see in the pics, the car also comes with a newer bra as pictured. You'll also note the factory optioned luggage rack which is a preference depending on how often you take the t-tops on and off. If you do decide to remove it, the factory grommets are actually quite inconspicuous with the rack off the car.
The car has also been treated to a professionally installed entirely new aluminized (doesn't rust) true dual exhaust and it sounds great! (The muffler shop did a great job mounting the mufflers correctly.) As you can also see, the original spare tire carrier still looks great too and no one has ever put a jack underneath it.
INTERIOR
The interior is all original and save inconspicuous imperfections remains quite attractive. The dash shows no cracks or blems: not even in the speaker preferations! The original leather seats are nice save a couple of blems on the passenger side, the door panels have arm rest savers and the brand new beautiful cross flag Lloyd floor mats cover up one separation in the driver side carpet. The power windows still work great and the optional tilt-telescopic steering column is also nice and tight.
The one year only gauges still look beautiful and we touched up the mostly original silver striping around the center gauge bezel and shift plate, as you can also see in the pictures. All of the gauges work except for the clock. (Corvettes came with clocks so you know what time they left the factory.) The car had an aftermarket stereo in it when we purchased it (that did not require any modification/ cutting of the gauge bezel) and it works great so we didn't remove it, however the original 8-track stereo with original knobs as pictured is included with the purchase.
The original jack and handle remain underneath the rear compartment tray which currently stores the original black vinyl t-top bags. I haven't tried the cruise or the windshield wiper washers so I don't know if those work and same with the rear defroster because I haven't ever had the rear window fog up. The horn system is complete but the horn isn't currently blaring. I'll try to take a look at it next weekend because the car is so original I know it's an easy fix.
MECHANICALS
The motor compartment remains very original, attractive and has been maintained with all of its original ignition shielding! The numbers matching 350 Cubic Inch motor has plenty of get up and go (I think these cars were detuned from the factory/ HP ratings were re-calculated using different metrics for emission's standards compliance.) Regardless, the drive-trainis responsive, goes through all the gears well and will put you back in your seat!
The car has received a complete tune up including all new wires, plugs, cap, rotor, belts, hoses, filters, valve cover gaskets and complete fluids change over the last 12-18 months. All of the brake calipers have been replaced and upgraded with stainless steel sleeved units and new pads together with a new master cylinder. The radiator has also been replaced and upgraded to an aluminum unit: the temperature never seems to rise over 165 degrees! The A/C system is complete and has never been taken apart or monkeyed with so an upgrade to R-134 in the Spring should be a straight forward process: that is if you don't want to take the t-tops off!
The car received a four wheel alignment and it tracks straight down the road but I would imagine a bushing kit would be a good next step as a preventative maintenance measure. The undercarriage is solid with no rust to speak of but I would gently wire brush, mask off and rattle can the underside metal components unless original patina is the new owner's preference. It's my understanding from friends who are more active in the Corvette scene than myself that original cars without underside repaints have been bringing more money? To each his own!
Please feel free to call us with any questions: (815) 373-8888. The car is located in Rockford, IL (about 60 miles Northwest of Chicago's O'Hare International Airport) and I can help arrange shipping anywhere in the lower 48 States for less than $1000 or anywhere in the world for that matter.
