This 1977 Corvette was manufactured forty-two years ago this month and has been well maintained throughout its life: appearing to have never been in any kind of accident! We purchased it from the third owner who managed to put about 30k miles on the clock over a little less than a decade. Please feel free to call us with any questions: (760) 283-7098.
EXTERIOR
The exterior body appears to have never been in any kind of accident (the factory bonding strips remain in place) and this Corvette has been refinished with two-stage color sanded and buffed paint in the original factory yellow.
The headlights pop up and down well and all of the exterior brake lights and turn signals work. We replaced the taillights with new reproductions and they look great! The wipers work as well. All of the factory weatherstrip remains soft to the touch but isn't new either. The plastic front spoiler is also a new reproduction. This Corvette turns heads everywhere it goes.
INTERIOR
The well cared for interior is all original and has held up very well for its age. The dash, carpet and steering wheel look great and I installed a set of embroidered Lloyd's floor mats which compliment the interior nicely. Even the speaker holes on the dash don't have any splits between them! The original leather seats aren't split or torn (amazingly) but if the new owner wants them so nice as they can be, the ribbing could be replaced or was fine for me. The original door panels look good as well but have a few inconspicuous blemishes. The power windows work very well: (dare I say almost like new!) The steering column is also nice and tight.
The gauges' coloring remains vibrant and all of the original silver striping around the bezel and shift plate looks good. All of the gauges work except for the clock. (Corvettes came with clocks so you know what time they left the factory.) The factory radio is present but I installed a wireless Bluetooth amp that directly connects to any smartphone for playing music and apps.
The rear compartment doors work great and the original jack and handle remain underneath the rear compartment tray which currently stores the original black vinyl t-top bags. I also installed new door sill plates because the originals were scratched.
MECHANICALS
The numbers matching factory 350 cubic inch motor is mated to the factory three speed transmission. The power plant has plenty of get up and go.
(Starting in 1972, Chevrolet horsepower specs were re-calculated from "gross horsepower" to "net horsepower." Previously horsepower was measured on a blueprinted engine without the accessories: i.e. alternator, A/C, P/S etc. Combined with de-tuning from the factory to meet emission's standards compliance, these spry Corvettes get an undeserved bad horsepower rap.) Regardless, the drive-train is spirited and will put you back in your seat. The Corvette just passed its California emissions certification.
A new "aluminized" (doesn't rust) exhaust system has been installed under the car with new catalytic converters and mufflers. The original spare tire carrier still looks great too and no one has ever put a jack underneath it. The spare tire may have never been on the ground and the original spare tire lock is still in place!
The car has received a complete tune up including all new wires, plugs, cap, rotor, belts, hoses, filters, valve cover gaskets, complete fluids change as well a new aluminum radiator and carburetor rebuild. You'll note the original ignition shielding and the upgraded and polished finned aluminum factory valve covers finishing the motor compartment nicely!
You'll also notice the four newer tires on the brilliantly polished factory optioned slotted aluminum wheels with new center caps, emblems and lug nuts.
The entire braking system has been serviced with stainless steel sleeved calipers, pads, rotors and master cylinder. The power steering components have also recently been serviced. The car received a four wheel alignment and it tracks straight down the road.
