1970 Chevrolet C-10 SHORT BED Additional Info:
1970 CHEVY C-10 SHORT BED PICK UP
CURRENTLY OWNED SINCE 1985!!
FACTORY A/C!!
ALWAYS MAINTAINED SERVICED - RUNS AWESOME!!
By 1970, during the second generation of the C/K truck line, GM started to add more creature comforts to their "Action Line" of pick ups. Owners not only wanted a rugged work horse during the day but wanted the ability to wash their trucks up and take them out at night. During this era, trucks morphed into everyday drivers and more and more automobile like features were adopted into the truck line up. More engine options, creature comforts like A/C, power windows and tilt wheel while drive abilitybecame less rugged and more refined with power steering, softer suspension and disc brake stopping. Yes....this era truck fast forwarded 50 years to today has become the most sought after and collected of all trucks. Who would have thought, trucks we used to build America with would be appreciated and collected decades later.
Finding the right truck to build, restore and collect is a daunting task. But as the market shows, the Chevy Short Bed is always a safe bet. This 1970 Chevy C-10 has been owned and cared for by its current owner since for over 30 years. It has been on light duty ever since the owner bought her in 1985. Making deliveries and picking up auto parts, mulch and whatever else was needed. Please read on and please make sure you view the many pictures and video at the bottom. Thank you!!
Exterior:
The exterior of this vehicle does show its age. It was lightly restored many years ago with new rockers and black paint(was originally aqua blue). The rockers are rusty. The floors for the most part are solid but does have rust developing and certain areas are worse then others. Also on the roof line there is some rust developing as well. If you're going to use the truck as a truck, the way it is now is perfect as a driver. It shows nice from a distance but as you get upon close review you will see all the areas that need attention if you are going to restore the truck and make it show quality. Obviously the wheels and tires are not original but the owner liked the rugged look. All the glass is intact and there are some extra parts that come with the truck(grill, side vent windows and some odds and ends). Please view the photos and watch the video and let us know of any questions.
Interior:
The interior also shows its age. The seat shows wear. The rest of the interior aside from the rug is original. The original radio does come with the purchase of the truck. The pictures will speak for themselves in the depiction of the condition of the interior. The beautiful part about this particular truck is that if you decide to restore it EVERY part is available online and rather inexpensively too. Please view the photos and video and let us know of any questions you may have.
Drive-Train:
The engine is the 350 v8 and we are not sure if its original to the truck or not. The 350 v8 engine was an option for that year but haven't researched it. The engine runs and sounds great....No knocks, taps, or smoke. The automatic transmission shifts great as well. The truck is road worthy and very reliable and was always maintained. The RARE A/C options is all there but needs to be gone through. It currently doesn't work. Please watch the video of the truck running and see the pictures of the engine compartment. Let us know of any questions you may have.
In Summation:
If you're looking for the right truck to restore, this is the one. The short beds always are more desirable. You can drive it while you restore it but be reassured that what ever you put into this truck, both dollars and sweat, it will reward you a great return financially and give you priceless joy!! This is a NO RESERVE auction. Bid to win!!
Payment:
A $500 non refundable deposit is due immediately after auction end by paypal. Balance due within 7 days of end of auction by certified funds. The truck will remain in storage until payment is clear and truck can be picked up. Please follow these payment instructions. Thank you!
