The vehicle was original built at the Oakland, California Chevrolet plant in June of 1941. Not sure when it made its way over to the Ohio area.

Bid with confidence!

Body & Paint: The body was sandblasted to remove all 5 previous paint colors. The "body on frame" restoration was done using all metal reproduction panels where needed. The floor pans, body to frame mounts and brackets, along with the bottom of the door areas were all replaced. The headlights were “Frenched” and cowl vent removed to accept the new “Hot Rod Air Conditioning” unit. The door handles were shaved, (Now has remote door openers installed.) and some of the original trim pieces were removed to give the car smoother look. Countless hours were spent blocking and sanding ensuring a straight body. The body panel fit and alignment is very good also. The vehicle was then sealed, primed, and painted with a 2007 Ford Explorer color called “Redfire Pearl Metallic”. (Ford Code G2/M7089, reproduced with PPG5938.) There are six(6) coats of clear over RedFire paint which has no orange peel or other problems. The paint looks flawless with a deep shine. There are a few typical store nicks here and there, that can be easily touched up. These photos were taken on an overcast day, but in the sun this metallic paint really pops.
Chrome & Trim: The vehicle doesn't have a lot of chrome or stainless steel trim piece, but what is does have has been re-chromed and looks great. The front grill is very nice and straight. The chrome potmetal grill trim is free of any pit marks or cracks. Both side view mirrors along with the headlight trim rings all look very good. The body drip rails over the doors were removed during the restoration also. It has '39 Ford style LED taillights along with a rear window 3rd brake light.
Interior: The interior has a set of gray leather seats from a 1996 Mercury Sable. The driver side is power. The rear sitting area has a matching gray leather 40/60 split fold down seat installed. The door and side panels were upholstered with roll and pleat gray matching leather. There was trim installed on the doors along with the handles and armrests. The center floor console between the front seats is from a 1998 Chevy Blazer and fits very well. The center unit houses a Pioneer AM/FM/CD/USB/Aux Bluetooth HD Radio w/remote and interior lights. New gray carpet is installed on the floor along with matching gray carpeted floor mats. The vehicle has a new “Dolphin” 21 circuit wiring harness installed. The instrument panel has new Dolphin gauges mounted in a custom stainless steel bezel. All of the gauges, instruments, and knobs are intact and working correctly. The original clock does not work. There is a GM tilt steering column installed along with a LED gear selector. The mahogany, banjo style steering wheel is made by “Grant" and is wired for working horns. A chrome “Lokar” emergency brake handle is installed. The gray headliner is nice, but does have a hole in it behind the driver's side sunvisor. (Can't be seen with the sunvisor in the up position.) A two speed windshield wiper unit was installed to replace old vacuum wipers. There are three A/C vents installed in or below the dash area. It blows cold.
Glass: All of the tinted glass windows are new and are in great shape with no chips or scratches. The 2 piece windshield has a center butt joint. All of the rubber moldings and weather stripping around the windows are in great condition with no leaks. The two front side windows are powered and the two rear side windows are manual.
Engine Compartment: The engine compartment is completely detailed. Engine block is painted the same color as car. There is a lot of chrome items under the hood such as the valve covers, air cleaner, alternator and the master brake cylinder. Other accessories are polished aluminum and stainless steel. The radiator is new brass “Walker” 4 core cooled by a “Summit” 7 blade aluminum flex fan with an electric pusher fan in front. See the "Mechanical" section below for more details on the new crate engine. The vehicle is equipped with a "Hot Rod Air Conditioning" unit that is blowing cold.
Trunk Compartment: The trunk compartment is upholstered with matching gray carpet. The underside of the trunk lid is done with matching gray leather and a large embossed "41 Chevy Bowtie" emblem. A new Optima yellow top battery is located in the trunk compartment. The trunk is wired for a remote opener but needs a relay installed to make it work.
Wheels & Tires: The vehicle sits on BF Goodrich “TA” white lettered radial tires. Size: P205/70R14 in the front and P215/65R15 in the rear. They are mounted on American “Torq-Thrust D” polished aluminum Mag wheels giving it a true classic look. All of them are in great shape but could use a quick polished to make them pop.
Undercarriage: The original frame is very solid with no signs of rust and weak areas. Again, the metal floor panels were replaced correctly. The undercarriage is painted with chassis black paint. The 18 gallon polyethylene fuel tank is new along with the sending unit with stainless fuel lines. The brakes lines are also stainless steel.
Nine times out of ten, people selling a car would not talk about or take any photos of the underside. The undercarriage tells you a lot about the car, that is why there are several pictures of the bottom in the photo gallery. Please view them all and see why this vehicle is better then most.
Mechanical: Engine-Transmission-Rear End:
The vehicle has a new GM Goodwrench 355 cubic inch, 375 horsepower crate engine installed. (Appox. 7200 miles currently) It starts and runs great with no problems or issues. Feeding this power plant is a Summit 600cfm carburetor that has been tuned for peak performance. (Vehicle runs great on regular octane fuel.) Bolted to this engine is turbo 350 automatic transmission that has light shift kit installed. It shifts out nice with crisp firm shifts. The only problem is a slight trans leak around the speedometer cable fitting. (Needs a new o-ring installed.) It has a 10 bolt Chevy Nova 3.88:1 rear end with new U-joints in the drive shaft.
Suspension:
There is a Mustang II front-end suspension installed. The rear has new 1955 Chevy leaf springs. There are newer shocks in the front and rear. The vehicle drives straight and true. It doesn't pull, shake or vibrate.
Brakes:
It is fitted with 4 wheel disc brakes from “Master Power Brake” and a new chrome master cylinder from “Tuff Stuff”. All of the stainless brake lines and hoses are new. There are no problems or noises with the brakes.
Exhaust:
The dual 2 ½” exhaust system has aluminized pipes with Flowmaster mufflers that exits out the rear with chrome tips. The exhaust is connected to stock GM manifolds from a GMC/Chevy Suburban.
What Goes Along With The Vehicle: The owner has a photo album showing the restoration process. He also has most of the invoices, paperwork, and instruction sheets from various items that are installed on the vehicle. Car will also come with a 3-layer California car cover along with a custom made stone chip and bug bra for highway use. He also has some misc. extra parts like a bumper and the original 6 volt gauges/bezel.
