1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Additional Info:
57 Chev Shimrin Pearl Basecoat PBC37 Majik Blue Pearl by House of Colors and body and paint work done by Star Side Design in Riverside, California. They put the true blue pearl with flames and shades of candy coat pearl basecoat mixed to give the design. Chassis reinforcements include structural square tubing running through the floors up to side panels and rockers toward windshield, which in fact itself was shortened 2 inches also to give flex support without cracking the glass. You cannot really see the reinforcements unless you remove all the carpeting and the underside of the body only shows portions of it along the floors front to rear. Some parts of the frame and panels were powdercoated and the door handles were both shaved and the side and . rear windows were removed and filled in also. The full length console, ididit tilt -steering column, Budnik steering wheel and other fabrications to the body and chassis not only includes the front and rear suspension work, but assembling and aligning parts for the road were done by Pro Design Hot Rods in Santa Ana, California. Even the small details such as the hood bullets are shortened alongwith the windshield to compliment the styling up front. The rear view mirror has given a nice touch also. They put the Lincoln Versailles 4:11 rearend in the car with. adjustable link bars and also added was the Air Ride Technology Shockwaves double adjustable air controlsystem on the front with Heidts tubular a-arms and dropped spindles. The rear has the gas shocks with airbags. The air bag system allows the driver to raise and lower the car by switches on the console panel next to the CD player source unit. The car needs to be raised slightly to the top of the front rims (not the tires) in order to drive and turn the wheels, otherwise the tires will damage the fender lip areas. The car can be dropped almost down to the ground if desired. The chassis linkage is basically stock Chevrolet with a modified 605 steering sector to give the power steering feature. The master cylinder is a stock Chevy style that has been chromed with a dual 7" vacuum booster assist giving ease to the braking. Disc brakes on all four wheels are Baer 13" with 4 piston calipers on the front and wheels are Budnik 20"Fontana Fat Lips. The rear wheels are 9 Yz" wide and the fronts are 8" wide. The engine combinations are a 355" small block Chevy with a 671 Supercharger overdriven 10% and lots of expensive add ons. The engine has a full roller Comp Cams valvetrain with 8.5 to 1 Ross pistons and Manley rods. It has a forged steel crank with a four bolt main block and on top of the shortblock are Dart nsteel heads and the carburetors are 700 Holleys. The Transmission is a Turbo 400 with a io" inch 2800 rpm stall converter and is fully built to withstand the abuse if needed to do so. The ignition setup is MSD 6AL and the wiring is Painless throughout the car with Dakota Digital Dash instrumentation. All of the engine modifications are balanced and blueprinted. The radiator and electric fans are Billet City items which add to the cost of about $1500 to keep the engine cool. The interior includes seats by Glide Industries with Mercedes gray leather, door panels and trim work for speakers, monitors and all of the Clarion electronics installations were done by Clarion and Willie at the upholstery shop in Brea, California. The carpeting in the vehicle is blue to match the interior, trim and paint. The trunk area has a Fiberglas pod enclosure with injection molding on the inside of I r the deck lid and lots of Clarion electronics. The following was installed by Wet Works in Costa Mesa, California: AMlFM CD Player (DXZ 835MP) source unit with a 6 disc CDIDVDIMP3 changer control. There are three 7 inch LCD monitors (VMA 7191) in front (which pulls out to view the screen), rear seating area and trunk. The trunk area includes the VHS Hi-Fi VCR with built in tuner; IR wireless head phone system; source commander multi-zone A/V switcher; power system 6.5" separates with crossover network; pair of 10" (SRW 1043) single voice coil subwoofers for the bump sound installed in .9 cubic foot sealed enclosures behind the rear seating areas; 6.5 component .speakers (SRS 1684) are installed in the front . door panels and rear quarter panels; there are four Clarion (APX 401.2) 2/1 Channel power amps mounted on the multi-media amp rack in the trunk with builtin electronic crossovers that control the speakers. Also housing the VCZ 625 disc changer, the VDH 910 VCR and VMA 7191 wide screen display unit. The Clarion MS 430 handles all of the source switching which is located on the right side which is accompanied by the Scosche power distribution block. Included with all the electronics are three remotes to operate everything. Total electronics investment is near $8000 including everything that was installed. Other things done to the car are the rear view minor molded into the windshield frame and dash has been modified and painted to match the car, there is a Viper alarm installed. Definitely a driver and a showcar with approximately $105000 invested in it. Finished restoration and completion in 2010. Can be street driven very easy and is currently registered and insured through Grundy Insurance Company. The 28 foot trailer will go with the car. Buy it and bring your truck to hook it up to the trailer and you will be set.
