1962 Corvette. Ermine White, Red interior. All numbers matching way beyond the typical engine and trans. 327; 3-spd manual transmission, very rare (only about 10% of 62’s had a 3-spd manual). Extremely Original Car, even the key is original.
We bought this car in very original unrestored condition in 1998. It had been stored at least 20 years at that time and was not running. Documented 2 owner history back to 1966. This Corvette has only 92,700 miles. No accidents ever. We completed a full body off restoration in the mid-2000’s and it has been in garage storage since then. There are probably only a couple hundred miles on this restoration, with very little driving to a few car shows and parades. The car is in great condition and gets a lot of attention.
Interior is all new from the restoration and still looks brand new. All interior is top quality Al Knoch materials. New seat springs, cushions and covers. Seat frames were sand blasted and painted. New carpet and dash pad installed. New door panels, kick panels and sun visors. All new wiring harnesses installed throughout the car. All gages are original and working. The tachometer is functional but the needle popped off and needs to be reseated. Soft top frame had some rust at the front brace, but has been restored, replacing the front brace. The soft top fabric has never been installed. New owner can choose their color. The original Wonderbar radio and speaker are installed.
Paint is very nice and is better than driver quality but not quite show condition. There are a few minor blemishes but overall it looks great. Shines nice and this color combination gets a lot of attention at the shows. All chrome and stainless steel have been polished and look very good. Some pitting on the door pillars and handles. See photos. Bumpers and front grill look great and are original condition. Side windows are original and in very good shape. Windshield and rubber seals were replaced when the restoration was done. The stainless steel piece at the lower base of the windshield is not installed properly and will have to be re-seated to be flush.
The engine was completely disassembled, machined 0.030 over and rebuilt to original specs. It starts right up and runs well. Plenty of power and great sound from the engine and exhaust. The engine bay is dirty from sitting. The engine could use a tune up and more regular attention, but it’s in great condition and virtually brand new. New engine bay wiring harness installed during the restoration.
Frame is solid, cleaned and painted during the body-off restoration. The rear cross bar is very solid where most have rusted. New exhaust installed from manifolds back during the restoration. Original drum brakes were restored with new brake lines and wear items during the restoration. New gas tank and fuel lines installed during the restoration. New tires with original rims and hub caps which are in very good condition. Original spare, jack, and lug wrench in the trunk compartment.
This 1962 Corvette is also listed for sale locally, so if it sells there I reserve the right to pull from Ebay. Realistic reserve, as am looking to sell the car. I will assist with coordinating shipping, which is paid for by the buyer. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
