1991 Chevrolet Blazer Additional Info:

Now that nobody's making a full-sized, body-on-frame, 2-door SUV anymore, trucks like this 1991 Chevrolet Blazer are red hot in the market. It's still hard to beat its combination of style and utility, and when they're this nice, well, it's easy to understand why everyone still wants one in their garage.Originally plain old white, this handsome Blazer was given a very comprehensive makeover in the past year and the results are impressive. The two-tone gray finish gives it an up-to-date look and the shiny paint looks so good you'll think twice about heading off into the dirt with it. The top was painted to match, giving the whole truck a very cohesive look and there was obviously a good deal of money spent, because the massive body panels are straight and smooth with distortion-free reflections. All the original trim was retained, including the traditional stainless steel insert on the tailgate, and it's been equipped with tubular steps to help you climb aboard with the lift kit in place. Auxiliary lighting front and back helps maneuver the big truck and the grill was updated to match the all-new C/K Series pickups that GM had rolled out in 1988; the Blazer was selling so well that GM didn't update it until several years into production. Shouldn't that have told them something about how popular these SUVs really are?The interior has also been beautifully freshened, with gray leather seats that look stock but are freshly upholstered and extremely comfortable. The rest of the interior is very, very clean, from the stock door panels to the fresh gray carpets which are protected by heavy-duty rubber floor mats. A wide center console provides cup holders and lockable storage and the back seat is plenty big enough for three-across seating. Options include factory A/C, power windows and locks, and a tilt steering column, all of which make this SUV easy to live with every day. A newer Sony AM/FM/CD stereo head unit slots neatly into the dash, replacing the factory AM/FM radio, and you'll note that the gauges are all new Dakota Digital pieces with carbon-fiber faces that look very trick. The A/C is cold thanks to an R134a refrigerant upgrade and it's surprisingly quiet inside out on the road. The giant cargo bay is still useful, even with a full-sized spare tire and a subwoofer enclose back there, and it, too, is neatly finished with new carpets and fresh paint. The original 350 cubic inch V8 runs superbly and moves the full-sized Blazer without seeming to work very hard. It's completely stock, which is good news if you like reliability, and there's plenty of evidence of recent work, ranging from the fresh belts and hoses to the rebuilt A/C compressor to the new master cylinder. It's clean under the hood if not totally detailed, but you can see that it's led an easy life and any modifications were carefully done, including the wiring for the big stereo system. The matching 700R4 4-speed automatic overdrive offers crisp shifts and good road manners, and despite being original, this is not a leaker. The suspension was treated to a 2-inch lift, which gives the burly Blazer just the right stance and it sits on beefy 33x12.50-15 Falken off-road radials and polished aluminum Eagle wheels. You won't find much to fault with this Blazer and you probably won't find a nicer one for less cash.
