1969 Chevrolet Impala Convertible Additional Info:
Due to recent circumstances, this is up for auction. It is a very nice driver quality classic Chevy Impala convertible. I am a Certified Master Technician with over 30 years experience, and this a great running machine we have taken to several cruises. The engine and transmission only have aprox 5k miles since rebuild, it is a matching numbers car! Engine is 300hp 350cid with a casting number of 3932388 and cylinder head castings of 3973487 which make this a 300hp L48 4 bolt main with 74cc heads 1.92 1.50 valves. It runs and shifts perfectly, I recently rebuilt the original quadrajet carburetor, and it has the Petronix electronic ignition kit. Exhaust is original configuration so it is relatively quiet. It has power steering and power drum brakes, tires are also in very good condition. The paint code is for Lemans Blue and interior is Parchment white so the color is what it is suppose to be. Some of the upholstery looks to have been replaced on the drivers side, the rear looks original. The chrome looks very nice, trim rings and center caps look like new. It has a poorly done aging paint job that is blochy and has chips in it. The rear quarter panels were replaced at some point and some of the welds were not finished properly on top. With a little sanding and blending in certain areas and a fresh coat of paint it would look like new. The convertible top motor works, but draws way too many amps and needs replaced as it trips the circuit breaker many times throughout the movement. I have since disconnected the upper ram bolts so the top can be raised and lowered manually (easy with 2 people). The top is worn and needs replaced, but still does the job for now. With the exception of the convertible top motor, and the fuel gauge, all electronics work, including heater, turn signals, and even the Kraco car stereo. There has been a couple of patches in the floor as pictures will show, frame is solid but needs sandblasted and painted. This is a great driving car and can be driven home or anywhere for that matter, just trying to be honest so there are no surprises.
