1970 Corvette 454 LS5 Convertible up for auction. This Vette is still equipped with the original "born with" 454 engine, (carb, intake, and exhaust manifolds are original) Turbo 400 transmission, and 3:08 ratio posi rear end. The car has been in storage for the better part of thirty years. During those thirty years the old owner who I purchased it from had completed ninety percent of a "nut and bolt" restoration to bring it to the condition it is today. During the restoration the engine and transmission received an overhaul. All of the bushings, body mounts, braking components were either replaced or rebuilt. Frame was coated in POR 15. The fuel tank was replaced as well as fuel lines and brake lines with stainless factory mandrel bent lines. Other than the dash pad, all of the interior was replaced including carpet, leather seats, door panels etc. In the original Fm radios place is a blue tooth equipped CD player. (I still have the original fm radio though) All of the factory chrome pieces have been re-chromed to better than original condition. All of the weather stripping has been replaced. It also has brand new tires, exhaust, and a new soft top. The original frame for the soft top was sand blasted and powder coated before the new top was installed. I still have the original spare tire jack for the car. The car has received a base coat repaint in the factory color. The car is straight and shiny. The old owner advised the paint and body work had cost him over 10,000 dollars and it shows. For factory options the car had deluxe black interior, power steering, fm radio, automatic transmission, and Bridgehampton blue exterior paint. It is believed that the miles are true at 77,141. I am including a document from GM confirming the cars authenticity. Everything works in this car including the fiber optics, clock, wipers and even the washer fluid pump. It drives like it should and is well sorted out. Everywhere I take this it draws a crowd. The ladies absolutely love it and if you like attention this is the car to have. In my opinion it is the best color combination GM ever did with these vettes. As good as the car is I want any potential buyers to know that during its restoration some parts were not replaced with the "date coded" parts. IE wiper motor, starter, headlights, door handles, emblems, and glass. I do still posses a lot of the original parts that were replaced which will be included with the car. Furthermore, I have a box of manuals and books that go with the car. This car is what I consider to be in "excellent shape" and would hold its own at any car show. Third party reviews more than welcome and I will assist buyer with arrangement of shipping but the cost is of the buyers. As all auctions this is a "as is where is sale", no warranty implied, and all sales are final. Please call or email with any questions or pictures required. This car has to be sold as I moving and will not have a place to store it. 807-628-4672 text, call or email. Buyer reserves the right to the end auction early as car is for sale locally.
