1990 Chevrolet Corvette -- Additional Info:
Hello and thank you for looking at my auction. My name is Joe and I sell vehicles differently than most dealers. Buying your next car or truck through one of my NO RESERVE auctions is the best way to take the games out of your next automotive purchase. I personally road test each vehicle before it is offered for sale so I can give you my first hand opinion of how it runs and drives. Please keep in mind that I am not a mechanic. Each vehicle is represented accurately and honestly to the best of my knowledge and ability. Please take the time to check out each of the photos and read this entire description, as well as our Terms & Conditions, carefully BEFORE asking questions or placing a bid as most answers can be found in at least one of those places. An administrative fee of $149 will be added to the final bid of each auction. Up for a NO RESERVE auction is a 1990 Chevrolet Corvette with just 91k miles. This 'Vette comes as a fresh NEW CHEVY TRADE from Autonation Chevrolet. I would rate the exterior of this Corvette to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. As you can see, this is a good looking car and it looks to be all original. The burgundy finish shows it's age in a few spots but is presentable, overall. As with any older vehicle, please expect to find a few flaws and imperfections commensurate with age and mileage. The most important thing to point out on the exterior of this Corvette is that all of the fiberglass looks good with no cracks, chips or chunks missing. The body lines are nice and straight. The hood, doors and hatch all open and close easily. All of the glass and lenses are intact. The headlights both open and close smoothly and fully with no issues. The factory alloy wheels show well for their age and are wrapped in nice rubber with average tread all around. Please keep in mind that this is a 25+ year old car and check out each of the photos carefully. I would also rate the interior of this Corvette to be in AVERAGE CONDITION for it's age and mileage. The door cards are clean and tight. The dash is clean and free of cracks. The carpet in the driver's footwell is worn through under the mat. Both front seats are in remarkable shape for their age. The leather is soft, supple and the seats are very comfortable. The power windows both work. The climate control is fully automatic and appears to be functioning fully. The heater works well but the air conditioning will need charged or serviced as it does not blow cold air. The radio has been replaced with an aftermarket CD player. The rear hatch struts are worn and do not hold the hatch up anymore. This Corvette comes with two sets of keys and the original owner's manual, too. Mechanically, this Corvette appears to be in good running and driving condition. The 350ci V8 starts easily and runs smoothly. I didn't notice any leaks and the engine does not smoke. I do believe the valve covers leak because you can smell it once the car gets hot. Granted, this car sat for nearly a month while I waited for the title to come from the selling dealership so it had plenty of time to sit there and seep. It may not be as noticeable once she is driven more often and doesn't have the opportunity to sit for so long. That being said, I fired this Vette up and drove her 90 miles straight home without as much as a hiccup, mechanically. The engine sounds good and feels strong. She keeps perfect engine temperature, perfect oil temperature and excellent oil pressure. My only complaint about driving this Corvette is that you can feel some wear in the front bushings...mainly when you hit a joint in the road at highway speeds so you'll probably want to tighten the front end up a bit with some new bushings and such. She hits the road nice and straight, though. The automatic transmission engages smoothly and shifts properly with zero issues. Out on the highway, she drives nice and straight with no complaints, aside from the aforementioned bushings needing replaced. She cruises easily and has plenty of power. It has been some time since I've had one of these and I forgot how quick they were. If you're looking for a solid C4, this is the way to go. Mint condition cars bring a fortune...and nobody wants to rescue a basket case. If you can find a straight car with good miles that just needs a little normal care, you can end up with a very nice car without spending $10,000+. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding.
