1957 Chevrolet 3100 Additional Info:
Bidding on a stunning 1957 Chevrolet 3100 short bed step side. This is a super solid, super straight truck that has never seen rust or rot. It was originally a New Mexico truck that found its way east. It is an older, professional restoration that has held up amazingly well, a true testament to the quality of workmanship bestowed upon it. It has never had the usual issues that these truck suffer from. The cab corners are original and are as solid as the day they were stamped. The front fender eyebrows are also original and excellent, rockers, floors and all the rest are outstanding, making this truck quite special. The drive train was sourced from a 1971 corvett, as has been verified by engine suffix code, it is a four bolt main 350 and has a set of 2.02 "Camel Hump" heads of the same vintage. With a very street able cam as well as an Wieand intake and an Edelbrock 600 cfm carb, it has Hooker competition headers that exit through a 3 inch exhaust to Flowmaster mufflers. The truck sounds as good as it runs. The power is transmitted through a 1971 Muncie M-20 wide ratio 4 speed transmission, and is put to the ground via a 3:70-1 12 bolt open carrier rear end. In all this is a very street able combination that provides high performance while still allowing for highway use for long drives. The interior is quite comfortable, Upholstered in a very durable tweed, the dashboard is a modern take on a timeless classic, gauges are Autometer and are all functioning as they should. Radio is a flip up touch screen with AM/FM and CD. The exterior is painted a deep blue, and the body is very straight. There are some slight signs of use over time, This truck is a driver, However, it is still worthy of show, in my opinion, the paint is a 8.5 out of 10. This truck is well above daily driver. The exterior chrome has all been replaced with show quality parts and is excellent. The bed area is a work of art, finished in a subtle red oak, it is a bold statement in its simplicity. Wheels are American Racing with excellent rubber. I am listing this truck at a very reasonable price, the 1957 3100 is the pinnacle of the Tri-5 series, and has a loyal following. The prices that these trucks command continues to grow. This is a fine example of a true classic. Please feel free to ask any questions. Thanks for looking.
