1957 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Bel Air Additional Info:
This is a complete (except for the air cleaner) running and lot driving 1957 Chevrolet Belair Air 4 Door Hardtop, 283 4 barrel carburetor, AT. It is your typical Indiana rust bucket and will need a complete restoration. The floor pan, rocker panels will need replacement among other body repairs. I have a good Indiana title that is in my name. From what I can tell the vehicle is complete except for the air cleaner which was missing when I got the car. The car is also pretty much original except for the wheels (original spare wheel is in the trunk), and the transmission which looks to have been switched out with a standard turbo 350 tranny. The previous owner did a partial job on the turbo 350 transmission installation, they did not hook up the trans cable to the carb setup so the transmission just remains in low range, also did not properly install the filler tube so it leaks out trans fluid when filling. They also did not purchase the new parts for the steering column shift indicator that is available for the turbo 350 conversion. I believe this car came originally with the "new for 57" Turboglide transmission. The engine is the original 57 283 4 barrel V8 engine. Other than the wheels and transmission, everything else looks to be original down to the paint. The engine starts up and runs good, and the vehicle can be lot driven with brakes but is not ready to be driven on the open road. The engine is started with a small gas tank at the front of the vehicle. I do not know the condition of the rear gas tank but would assume it either needs replaced or removed and hot tanked. The Frame is rusted out at the left and rear frame horns were the rear bumper mounts and the left rear spring shackle is almost separated from the frame. I purchased a really nice straight and original california 57 chevy frame with the front and rear suspension that will go with the car. This car will need to be trailered and cannot be drivin home. Original interior is all there but will need complete replacement.I try my best to give and accurate description of this vehicle as I want the potential buyer to know what he/she is getting. This vehicle is no cream puff and I would describe it as a 20 footer. It is old, worn out, and tired. A definite project vehicle. But it is a 57 Chevy and a 4 door hardtop that you do not see very many of. I am not a 57 expert but will do my best to answer any questions. I will accept bank checks or cash upon pickup. If sending a chec, please allow up to 7 days for the check to clear my ban, All checks will be cleared by my bank before this car leaves the property . If you would like the car shippe, i can load it for the shipper. I do not know of any shippers so the buyer will need to make all arrangements for shipping. Full payment is due within7 days of auction en, Car can sit here in my shop for 30 days, but it must be paid for within 7 days.
