1973 Chevrolet Camaro Z28 RS Additional Info:
1973 Camaro Z28 Split-Bumper 4-Speed 383 Stroker.
This car is a beast, and a blast to drive!
The 1970 - 1973 versions of the 2nd generation Camaro are replacing the 1st generation (1967 - 1969) in terms of popularity, and rapidly increasing value. The 2nd generation actually goes through 1980, but in 1974 the front clip changed and the car began to look quite different. The 1970 - 1973 model years are unique, highly desirable, and becoming harder to find.
I have bought and sold a lot of cars, this has been one of my favorites. Classic American Muscle, well built 383 stroker, v-tech heads, and a close-ratio 4-speed that will pull you back in your seat in every gear. It handles exceptionally well because of the Hotchkis suspension kit, and the headers and 3" free-flow exhaust sound like muscle. (Car is smog exempt in CA.)
A true 1973 Chevy Camaro Z/28. I have the original bill of sale, and a lot of recent records for this vehicle, all of which will be included in the sale.
The interior is black, and is in great shape. Carpet and Z/28 floor mats are new.
The aftermarket oil gauge is in the spot where the stock ashtray was located, below and to the right of steering wheel. I made a bezel for it, so it fits and looks great. I have the original ash tray which you could slide back in with no alterations.
I added an amplifier to the classic-look stereo, mounted inside the glove compartment, and replaced all 4 speakers. For front speakers, rather than cut up the inside of the car or doors, I made a bezel and mounted in below the dash and on top of the transmission hump. The system uses a standard headphone jack, so I use my iPhone, but any phone or music device with a headphone jack will work, and play though the stereo as "aux".
All the gauges, and everything else in the interior works as it should (except the turn signal indicator lightbulbs need to be replaced). No cracks in the dash, door panels look great, headliner is new. Seat belts on all 4 seats, with shoulder harnesses in front. New windshield, new steering wheel.
The motor is a 383 stroker that has about 7,000 miles on it. Edelbrock intake and holly carb.
Factory close-ratio four speed car with a 3:73 possi track rear end. New radiator, new gas tank, new fuel lines (all the way to the carb), new steering gearbox, new power steering pump and lines, new water pump, new upgraded fuel pump, new battery, new battery cables, new master cylinder. Exhaust is all new, dynatech headers, Dr. Gas X-Pipe, full 3" pipe all the way back to Spintech box mufflers.
The car does not leak any fluids - surprisingly enough for a classic car. I keep metal pans under all my classic cars, but this one has not needed them.
Upgraded with a Hotchkis TVS pro touring suspension and subframe connectors, new shocks, new poly body mounts, new A-arm bushings, which make this car handle great! It holds the road really well.
New brakes, new u-joints, new clutch. All fluids are fresh. 17" American Racing Torque Thrust Wheels, with brand new BF Goodrich tires - maybe 100 miles on the tires, at the most.
Exterior of the car is great overall. All exterior lights work property. The chassis, floor and trunk are solid/no rust. The paint is not original, but the repaint is basically the same blue as the original color, so it looks great inside and out. Minor body rust at the bottom of the fendersjust in front of the doors. Paint is shinny and looks great.
I have an extra air cleaner and valve covers for this car, which are black. They will be included with the car, and are in excellent condition.
I have the clear title in hand, the original 1973 bill of sale, and many, many of the receipts and documentation for what has been done on the car.
I have described the condition of the car to the best of my knowledge. I am a car-guy but I am not an expert. Please ask any questions. I will do my best to answer your questions, take more pictures, etc. I want you to get what you expect to get.
This is definitely an "adult supervision" kind of car, IMO. There is no way I would allow my teenage sons to drive this car.
This car will absolutely not leave my possession until I have completely cleared 100% payment funds in my hands.
You can pick up this car in San Diego. I would drive this car anywhere. No a/c, but other than that I would not hesitate to take this car on a road trip. If you want to use a shipping service, I will cooperate.
The winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours of auction end and make arrangements forpayment at that time. A $1,000.00 non-refundable deposit throughPaypal is due immediately at the end of auction.
If you don't contact mewithin 24 hours, I reserve the right to not sell the car to you. This car willabsolutely not leave my possession until I have completely cleared 100% payment funds in my hands.
Ireserve the right to cancel this listing at any time prior to completion of the auction, if the car is no longeravailable before theauction ends.
Thank you.
