1979 Chevrolet Corvette Additional Info:
This is my father's "Daily Driver" that he has had for a little over 10 years and got into running shape. The last three years (Spring, Summer, Fall) we have used it as an occasional ride. Three years prior to that it was in storage. It recently passed inspection in April 2017, however since, I have had a crack in the windshield and when we went to get it replaced we learned that it needs some frame work to reinstall the glass (see last 2 pics). We decided it is time to pass this fun ride along to someone that would like to continue to enjoy and improve it.
The details as I know it: It's a 1979 Base Sport Coupe, 8cylinder, 350ci, 195hp automatic transmission, rear-wheel drive, T-top. It has power windows, power door locks, air conditioning, sport mirrors, cruise control, tilt-telescopic steering column, aluminum wheels, after-market radio w/CD player, power antenna, dual rear speakers. I'll also include a car cover, t-top covers, original owner's manual, Chilton Repair manual, and Corvette Central Assembly Instruction manual.
I've been told that the engine has been replaced and is "Non-matching" to the Corvette. This was done prior to my father's purchase. Runs great though. The exterior color is Corvette Red and seems to have been repainted the same at some earlier time. There are a few issues of paint peeling around the rear tail lights and a crack in the fiberglass just behind the right front tire (see pics). The T-tops are not original but found a "close to color" pair, on ebay, except that the interior color of the tops is tan rather than the Corvette's original Oyster color. It also comes with an aftermarket windshield air deflector.
I am not much of a "car guy" so for the last 3 years the work to get it running and inspected has been done by a Corvette specialty shop close to home here. Some of the work done includes new brakes, brakelines, new radiator, various front-end alignment parts, headlamp vacuum system, and new 225/70R15S BF Goodrich Radial T/A tires (less than 6000 miles since 6/22/2015).
It will need some work to replace the windshield (to be clear... does NOT come with a windshield) and there is a problem with the interior lights on the console not coming on. If your are looking for a project car that can be improved upon with little effort then this is worth the look. To be sold AS IS with NO warranty. Message me with any questions I may be able to answer for you.
