1970 Chevrolet El Camino Additional Info:

If you are looking at this auction you will understand this is a rare El Camino. It left the factory as a special paint code SS 454 LS5 with the "Rockcrusher" M22 4 speed. I'll get this out of the way up front. The original engine and trans are long gone. Included in the auction is a correctly dated "512" LS5 block, heads and intake manifold. The truck currently has a 327 and a 69 dated Muncie 4speed. It last ran about 4 years ago.
I am the 4th owner of this truck and it lived it's life in central California until 2 years ago when I brought it to Tennessee. It was sold new at Sunset Chevrolet in Lompoc. It was ordered by a guy that owned a business and he ordered it to match the color of the rest of his fleet. The original color is visible on the floor pans and the inside of the doors. The truck was painted Fathom Blue by the second owner in the mid 70's and that is the paint that is on it today.
As you can see in the pictures it lightly tapped something with the front end a long time ago. It will need at minimum a bumper, bumper filler panel and both headlight bezels. A new GM grill in the box comes with it. It would take a very good body man to fix the original cowl induction hood. Both front fenders are repairable with a little work to the front of each and lower corner patch panels.
The original doors are excellent. The original quarters are excellent. Theoriginal tailgate is excellent. The roofalong the top of the doors on both sides will need repair. The lower rear window channel will need repair. The bed is nice with the exception of one small rusted area back by the tailgate that I have pictured. The floor pans are outstanding. The cowl area is excellent. The frame is a bit crusty but should clean up nicely with some minor pitting aftersandblasting. All of the glass is present and the windshield is cracked. If you see missing pieces of trim it is all included.
The bench seat will need to be restored. This is a tach/gauge car and they look to be in very nice condition. The dash had a gauge added to it. An am/fm radio was installed at some point in it's life but the build sheet calls for am only. The dash pad is not good but I have a very nice one that will be included. All of the seat belts are included.
Theoriginal CRV 331positraction 12 bolt rear is still in the car. This rear was unique to LS5 and LS6 Chevelle and El Camino only and is worth some pretty good money. Theoriginal BQ coded radiator for big block manual transmission is still in the truck and is once again worth some good money. Original big block fan shroud is still there.
Asstated in the title of the auction I have two build sheets. One in a file and one still stuck to thefloorboard and I have included a picture of that one. The build sheets state the special paint code and an asterisk with "delete stripes" handwritten.
I welcome inspection of the truck. I welcome questions and will do my best to provide a timely answer. You can call me at 760-802-9376 or send the question through Ebay. Please don't bid if youaren't 100 percent sure you will follow through.
The car is located in Eastern Tennessee. I will be happy to work with a shipping company you provide. I don't have a problem keeping the truck until transportation is arranged. I have the old California title which has been signed off by the administrator of the estateof the second owner. I also have the estate paperwork toaccompany it. If that presents a problem to the buyer I will be happy to get a new title here in Tennessee.
$200 non-refundable deposit required within 24 hours of the end of theauction. Full payment within 10 days.

On May-15-17 at 13:37:51 PDT, seller added the following information:

More specifics on some things folks have been asking about. The build date of the body is 12C which will make this one of the earliest LS5's. The stamp on the 512 block is T1216CRT. The CRT code is LS5 with manual trans and is the perfect match for this truck as is the build date of the engine. There is a vin number by the oil filter pad but of course does not match this truck. This block is not a restamp!! The block is actually a short block complete with assembled crank and pistons. The 290 heads are dated late July of 1969 as is the intake manifold.
I forwarded a picture of the other build sheet to a guy and will do the same for you if you let me know.
