1955 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 black Additional Info:
Up for auction is my 1955 Chevy Gasser with a Crower Fuel Injection Bought 10 years ago, I started with a old drag car that had been converted for street duty. It had a old 350 Chevy engine and a Saginaw four speed along with a 55 stock Chevy rear. I drove it 100 miles and finally tour it all apart. Over the last ten years, I put in a old straight axle in it, disc brakes in front and a Currie racing rear end with 411 gears.I had a set of Super Rare Dragmaster 6 slot Rims from The 60's and put them On. Looked around for a motor, and a friend of mine was restoring his old drag car which he found 15 years ago, and bought it back. It was left untouched from 1969 when he was drafted for Vietnam. His drag car was formally known as the 1966 Chevelle "Love in Blue" (Photo above is from 1968). Which still had the original 427 full roller drag motor that he built in 1968. He had over $10,000 in the motor back then. He wanted a more street able motor, so he bought a crate 502 motor. So I bought the 427 motor which was the start of a long process. When I was 14 years old I was at Connecticut Dragway, I saw a 1955 Chevy with gold tubes Hilbourn injection, which got me thinking to put a Crower fuel injection system onto my 427 motor. So I fitted the 427 into the Chevy. It took 12 times to finally get the motor to fit, then I sent it dynoed with a 950 holly carb. 592 horsepower and 520 ft lbs of torque. I put a new Tremik 5 speed and a custom made drive shaft onto it. Also had a 650 carb. installed onto it. Drove it around for a few more months. Then i came across a Crower fuel injection system in California while at the Long Beach Swap Meet. When I returned, I sent it off to Don's Speed Shop located in Newington, CT. My Good friend Paul the Owner of Dons was challenged with the task of getting it to run. Over lunch, we came up with an agreement that in three weeks the car would be running. Four years later & an undisclosed amount of hours and money, it finally runs, idols and drives. The biggest issue with using a Crower fuel injection on the street is because the injectors are above the butterflies. It was designed for wide open or off, never meant for the street. As far as I know, this is the ONLY Crower injection with custom made electronic injection on the street in and Runs on Pumped 93 Octane Gas flawlessly ! .Make NO mistake this is a race car on the Street it takes at least 15-20 min just to start and let it warm up to Temp before you can drive it and while your waiting you squirt the throttle linkage with Lube and check to make sure everything is tight before you drive it down the Street if you don't wait it will foul out the plugs ! The interior is pretty stock from the 70's with 1966 Chevelle Seats S&W Gauges and a 60's Moroso Tac and Bracket. I used the Old shifter on the New Tremec Transmission. You can see where the Carpet around the shifter is all cut up from different shifter's over the years. Has the 60's corvette steering wheel. The windows are the Old school Blue Tint Not Plexiglass.Headliner is in Great Shape and roll Bar Was stuck in there for show Not mounted to Frame. all the Lights work No back up lights. Speedometer dose not work. Gauges all work and gas gauge sometimes works. It is Dirty,Dusty, has scratches and some small dings.passenger window is cracked I like the look but will include a new window with tint. It's a RACE CAR Not A SHOW CAR This Scares Show Cars Off The Road !!! I have Not driven more then 400 miles sense I got it back. I would love to Hit Every Cruse and car Show around this Summer with it But I had some financial stuff come up lately and as much as I was Never going to sell this Car I half to part with it. Do Not Kid Yourself this car Is a BEAST to Drive and a Hand Full It Is Very Powerful and being a Stright Axle It goes Great on a Stright away on normal throttle but if you lay into it the Front end lifts up and the rear end Bites In HOLD ON because it will scare the shit out of you everytime ! This is a Show Stopping Car where ever you Drive it ! It Demands Attention ! Plain Bad Ass ! Make NO Mistake being behind the Wheel as you drive this Car Makes You Feel Like The King Of The Road Looking Over the Crower Intake Tubes WHAT A SOUND This thing Makes !!! So there you go Selling As Is and on a Bill of Sale and Connecticut Reg there are NO Titles issued on cars 25 years and older in Connecticut !!! Feel free to call me for a appointment to see it and go for a ride. I am 20 min outside Hartford CT... Will Ship World Wide...

P.S. I need to mention the engine was just rebuilt by Les at Horsepower Engineering in Ellington, CT with less than 500 miles on it. It is a full roller motor, with 14 to 1 compression. Also, a big thanks to Paul and Richie at Don's Speed Shop for taking all the time and effort to get it to run and Peter as well for doing all the software work.*Also will consider partial trades.*Thanks
