1961 Chevrolet Impala Nomad Custom LS1 Additional Info:
Up for a NO RESERVE auction is this beautiful one of a kind Chevy Nomad wagon. The Nomad is a very sought after and rare car, especially in 1961 as it was a one year only car. This car is very unique and draws a huge crowd wherever it goes.
The Nomad was recently finished in Tungsten Gray and as you can see in the photos was completely disassembled. It has been reassembled with care and freshly chromed original front and rear 3 piece bumpers.
She is equipped with a low mile LS1 and automatic from a 2004 Corvette! This car runs perfectly and always stays cool, even in these Arizona temps thanks to a custom made aluminum radiator and electric fan. Vintage Air A/C in the front and I will include parts that have been gathered to add rear A/C as well.
The Nomad rides on a full Air Ride set up and lays extremely low! It has a single compressor and tank and all systems function as they should. This set up works as is and is reliable but it could benefit from some updating to E-Level for example.
The wheels are beautiful 20x8 and 22x12 Billet wheels with very nice Pirelli tires. She cruises nicely down the freeway at 80+MPH and is the ultimate cruiser.
The dash was painted in Hot Rod red and my plan was to carry this color through out the car and in solid red! I have all interior parts needed to refinish and you're completely done with this beautiful car. It is equipped with brand new Dakot Digital gauges and all have been properly wired to monitor this LS1 swap.
4 wheel disc brakes, Lokar shifter and so much more I'm sure I'm forgetting. The rear tires will rub at certain ride heights, I was planning to mini tub the car to alleviate this. Please don't hesitate to ask any questions and bid with confidence as this is a NO RESERVE auction. Absolutely beautiful hot rod!!Included with the sale are all the original Nomad trim and many many more parts as well.

Interior: sorry for the lack of interior pics, I'll try to get some soon. The interior is complete, I have all of the original pieces required to put it back together they just need to be refinished. Currently the carpets, door panels and headliner are out of the car. I do have a new headliner already that will be included. Also included will be a very large roll of dyna mat sound deadening material. As it sits the seats are installed but need recovering. Ciadella sells a very nice complete kit for this car or simply have your local upholstery shop cover seats, door panels, install headliner etc... I hope that clears up a lot of the interior questions. If not please don't hesitate to ask. Thanks
