1961 Chevrolet Nomad Additional Info:
Up for auction is a very straight, super clean 1961 Chevy Wagon. If you have been looking for a 61 then you already know that they are the rarest and hardest to find of all the wagons!!!
The VIN code says built in Los Angeles and is listed asBel Air (Parkwood)originally with a 283 cu.in. V8. The car came with Nomad trim when I got it so somewhere in it's life time either someone or the dealer had Nomad trim added. I have all the trim pieces. We took them off to paint the car. The paint is less than 3 months old. It's not a show quality paint job but it's decent. This car was my daily driver for the last 10 months while the work has been getting done. This is a great car that just needs to be finished. All the hard stuff is done. Really only needs interior and few minor things. This car will nearly double in value once complete and my reserve is much less than this car is worth as it sits. I have over $6500 invested plus what I paid for it and I know I'm going to take a loss but like everyone here I have another project to complete and need the $$$ plus space in the garage! My loss is your gain! Drive this car anywhere! Runs perfect! Fly in drive home! AC blows ice cold! Here is the list of everything I can think of that has been done in the last 10 months that I have owned it.
Complete re-build of the small block 350 cu in Chevy engine by Acme Garage in Garden Grove CA. (Aprx. 350 HP)New Edlebrock Carb and ManifoldNew Power Front Disk BrakesNew under dash AC unit with Chrome compressorNew Aluminum RadiatorNew Adjustable tubular "A" armsNew 2" Drop SpindlesFront End AlignmentNew water pumpNew Fan + New Electric back up fan. Car runs cool even in So. Cal. heat!New Aluminum pullysNew Ridler Wheels and Nankang low profile tires (Less than 1000 miles) 18" front and 20" rear (Black & Polished on driver side Grey & Polished on passenger side)New Valve Covers and matching Air CleanerNew Retro-Sound bluetooth Radio with Pioneer 6x9 Speakers (Included in the sale....Just needs to be installed)
I know I'm forgetting a few things but you get the idea.... All the hard stuff has been rebuilt or replaced.
This is what it needs or could use:
Driver side rear floor panComplete interior (Got quote from Ciadella in AZ. Complete kit $2250 Factory Correct or Some custom fabrics of your choice)Spare tire wellWindshield has 1 crack at the bottom centerFront end horns appear to have been repaired at some point (see pic)I have 99+% of the Nomad trim pieces (spent a fortune just on the stainless drip rail trim) but a few pieces need to be straightened and all could use a polishBumpers are 95% straight but front has holes (Looks like it had bumper guards at one point) but any bumper shop can fix and re-chrome. I have gotten quotes for under $3001 headlight bezel is bent (can find replacements on eBay)Gas gauge is not accurate. (I have another sending unit...should fix the issue)Speedo needs to be calibrated. It is off by exactly 10mphIf I was going to keep it I would add headers and dual exhaust.
The good news is I have a few extra parts and pieces that were missing when I bought the car that I will include. Anything else you would need or want is available on eBay but I truly don't believe there are any missing pieces.
Bid with confidence....I have over 600 positive feedback.
