1986 Chevrolet Corvette Additional Info:
I purchased this car in 2004 from the 2nd owner, it had 58000 miles on it. He purchased it in 1993 from the 1st owner with 4700 miles on it at that time. This car has been stored winters, babied all its life, and has had no accidents ( AutoCheck verified). I wanted this car to look and perform like a new corvette so I had engine completely rebuilt professionally from the bottom up. New pistons, bearings, aluminum heads, intake, injectors, distributor, alternator, starter, air conditioner (r-134), ceramic coated headers, complete new exhaust system by FlowMaster, etc, etc. The builder states that it is approximately 375 hp. on regular gas. I installed a new Tremec TKO 5-speed manual transmission with new clutch and slave cylinder. The Tremec transmission gear ratio enhances the torque in 1st through 4th gear with 5th gear being over drive. This car has a new rear end (3.45 ratio), all new wheel bearing, all new u-joints, and the drive shaft has been balanced.
I installed new oem C-5 brakes with stainless steel braided lines and new master cylinder to improve its stopping capability, also installed oem C-5 aluminum wheels (in pristine condition) and new Good Year Eagle F1 Z-rated (run flat) tires. P275/40ZR18 on the back, P245/45ZR17 on the front (approximately 1000 miles on them now).
This car has had an almost complete body off repainting done by a local body shop, it is its original color. New door locks and handles have been installed. It has a new convertible top with a glass rear window.
The interior carpet has been replaced, new door sills, new door panels and rubber seals. The leather seats are oem from a 1991 corvette. New radio/CD player has been installed with Bose surround sound . New power antenna.
I have spent much more than $20,000 on restoration alone. It is my opinion, this car looks, runs, and drives reliably like a new car. Call me for any additional questions: Phil Palmer 419-467-4112
