1967 Chevrolet Camaro LS1 6 speed 1968,1969 Additional Info:
My wife and I have decided to sell some toys. I am second owner of this Camaro that was purchased new in Hot Springs SD and lived in Newcastle WY it's whole life. I purchased from the daughters of the original owner. It was a 6 cyl 3 speed car. My last hot rod was real shiny and show quality, but that put the worry in driving and enjoying it. This one has been the funnest and most reliable I have ever built and enjoyed. Fuel injected, drive by wire LS conversions are amazing! The car was original with original quarters and fenders and very rust free trunk and floor. Newcastle is a pretty arid environment. I did a frame off restoration with the full Detroit speed mini-tub kit and subrame connectors tucked up into the floors. The frame and suspension was all painted with POR-15 and the floor pans shot with enamel. All new bearings and parts in front suspension, factory a arms. The list of upgrades are:
LS1 from a local 98 Corvette with 62,000 milesNew Tremec 6 speedNarrowed Ford 9" with Auburn posi and Yukon 4:10 gearsNew Magnaflow stainless 2 1/2" exhaustNew LS7 Clutch with hydraulic throwout bearing and speed bleederNew Griffin Aluminum radiatorNew Dual fan set up with relays to PCMNew Jegs aluminum overflow canisterNew Autokraft LS1 oil pan with filter relocateNew Detroit Speed narrowed stainless steel fuel injected gas tankNew PSI wiring harness w/flashed upgraded PCM, for my gearing, tires...New TMI sport bolstered seats, fron and rearNew door panelsNew Carpet and headlinerNew American Racing 11 x 17 and 8 x 17 wheelsNew four wheel disc brakesNew Air ride Ridetech billet fuel capNew Nitto NT555 315 35 17 and 235 45 17 tiresNew CPP steering boxNew CPP brake proportioner/boosterNew Competition Engineering traction barsNew chin spoilerNew Dynatech ceramic coated stainless long tube headers
Since quarters appeared to be original, with some very minor rust, I have chosen not to replace and rather go with the old school look and build a driver that runs and handles like a new car that you can have stress free fun with. It is not your typical build, but it will never let you down or depreciate in value. The VIN is a very early production car, 249th 1967 built in Van Nuys factory. The driver name above the door is a play on words tribute to Smokey Yunick, "Smoken Unique".
