I was on vacation in the north woods of Michigan when I found this car in a small parking lot. It looked great with flares and nice touches. We were so far from home but the car stuck with me duringthe whole trip. After a few days I still couldn't shake the Vette off my mind. I made the call and sealed the deal. It was so far from anywhere I could barely find a shipper to bring it all the way to California. The Canadian border was 2 hours away with nothing but woods in between. I finally got it back and what a great car it turned out to be.
The Vette has way more custom touches than I first noticed. The rear deckof the car actually has been built up to have more of an overhang and looks amazing. The headlights take some getting used to, I feel likesome clear covers would smoothout the look more. The flares are rock solid. The cragars magshave some spacers to help fill up the wheel wells. The interior has some great high back buckets and the whole inside must have been restored or replacedat some point. The interior is very fresh, the carpets however have some sun bleaching. The door panels are quite nice with some interesting inserts inside the door pulls. The paint is quite shiny,it has some thin spots and swirls from the sander if you look closely. The re-finishhas to be prettyrecent because there is a container of fresh sparkles in the left side compartment. It looks like red paint under there if you dig around. The hood is outrageous and awesome. There is a modern air cleaner that fits perfectly. You can watch it shake from inside the cockpit. This is one of my favorite touches.
The engine I believe is a good wrench replacement. The color is turquoise under the grease. The Vette is hard to start and I have taken to priming it before start up. Once its warm the car starts right up. I thinkthe carb is the culprit. The side pipes are shot on the drivers side. They willneed a complete re-do. The rockers have been cut very discreetly to accommodate the pipes. The whole car has a high standard of craftsmanship. It was a well thought out and executed custom. The brakes stop great. Underneath is ok. There is one rust spot in the frame underneath the passengers seat. It should be repaired but doesn't affect the ride. The bushings lookdried out and that is another job that should be addressed. Its pretty quick off the line and I got a lot of thumbs up around town.
If you are looking for a custom vehicle you have found one! I have sold many flared vehicles and Its usually one guy looking for a mean and unique machine. This vette certainly delivers on that. There may be more to this car than I know. The 427/435 console looks like its very old and belongs to the car. I have had a couple dozen vettes and this one is good. It holds a charge, stops great and goes straight on down the road. There have been many deals from us here so check our reviews please. The half shafts have bolts not the u-shaped small block girdles I believe. This was one hot vette, It just needs you to put it right. harris.
