The truck was built here locally by a shop for a customer out of Colorado. He wanted the truck to survive the snow ice and salt and had them spray the whole undercarriage with line-x type liner. The underside of this truck looks as good if not better then the outside. It is clean, looks all brand new under this truck.The body and paint was all done professionally. This truck is laser straight, and I do not mean just straight. I mean laser straight. No waves in any of the body panels. All the body lines line up really nice. The only filler used on the truck was for final blocking. All body work was done with metal. Gas door was filled in, emblem holes cleaned, the body is clean and show quality straight. Truck was built to be a nice show truck. clean clean clean
The transmission is brand new, 700r4 overdrive from Jegs.com. This truck cruises very nice down the freeway. New transmission cooler.All the body mounts rubbers are new.
The only thing they did not change was the original trucks gauges and rear view mirror. They left the original trucks gauges which is kinda strange, but also the fun part of owning these trucks. So instead of me changing it out, I decided to leave it for the new owner to decide what direction to take. There is a ton of different options for gauges for these trucks. The speedo and gas gauge do function as they should. But theaccessoriesgauges are aftermarket and mounted to the lower dash. They are brand new.
The gas tank was relocated to the back. Tucked nicely in between the frame.
All the lights work, blinkers, high beams, headlights, tail lights, blinkers, dome light, and license plate light....all work.Cigarettelighter is originaldoesn'twork, easy fix.
The classic audio sound stereo sounds fantastic, all moderntechnology with classic looks.
Mechanically the truck is tip top, no issues basicallybecauseits all new. About 6000 miles have beenput on the newdrive lineover the past year. I've driven the truck for about 6 months while doing some improvements, and Iabsolutelylove the truck. I can't tell you howcomfortable this truck is with the climate control and the power. Its just fun. And I get folks asking me about the truck... every timeI take it out. You can hear it coming down the street. Can't mistake the rumble. I'm only selling the truckbecause its not practical for my family. If it was just me I'd never sell it, and this is not a forced sale. The wife and I just decided to let it go to the highest bidder.
Truck sits at the perfect driveheight, not to low to scrape anything and keep that sinister look ofmean hot rod. It goes really nice down the road and handles bumps real nice. Never bottoms out. suspension and steering are tight.
The title is clean and clear, the tags expire this next month but I will pay them if the truck stays local to California. Its current until 10/30/2016The speedo was never converted to the new 700r4 transmission. The kit to convert it runs about 80 bucks here on ebay. And is very easy to install. Everything is setup to just screw it on. As stated before, the speedo does work just needs to be converted to the new transmission.
The rear end wascompletelygone through and all new seals and gear oil. The brakes on the front areabout 80% and the brakes on back are brand new.
The parking brake works as it should, the seat adjusts as it should. The gas gauge works as is should. AC system is brand new, and blows ice cold. It will freeze you out of the cab. Heater works great too. Wipers are new and work perfect.
Truck runs like a champ, you can feel it when your driving it its just built tough. It drives straight, brakes straight and turns nicely. No issues. Its a excellent cruiser for car shows or even a daily driver.
The paint is a deep gloss root beer brown, with a nice custom rocker panel stripe that runs the length of the truck, the strip is understated, and classy. There are a couple small paint chips if you look hard enough but overall the truck is nice show quality. NOT FLAWLESS...minor imperfections in areas you have to dig real deep. Nothing that will stand out.
All the stainless is pretty nice shape. A couple small dings in a couple areas a few scratches. And it appears that on the rear window trim is missing a corner piece. Shown in pictures. You should be able to locate just the corner piece.
All the glass is in excellent shape, looks good, all the windows roll up and down real easy, no dings or chips in any of the glass.
If your looking for a nice clean solid classic truck to drive to shows or daily driver this is the truck. The truck is not for the faint of heart. It does have a ton of power and the 3" flow masters give this truck a unmistakable sound that only a hopped up small block makes.
Its been built to last and will bring someone pleasure for long time.
There would be a few things I would do if I kept the truck, I add a nice electronic fuel pump. I get a nice gauge package that compliments the interior. And down the road probably change out the rear drums to some nice disc brakes. Truck doesn't "need anything". Only minor stuff to take it to the top level. Maybe add a window washer bottle kit.
The truck is located in Pomona California. Please come take a look at it. If you want to send out a mechanic or someone to inspect the vehicle on your behalf you are more then welcome to do so. Its always recommended to inspect a vehicle prior to auction closing. I'm aware that is not always possible. So you are welcome to send any mechanic out to inspect this truck.
