1965 Cadillac Deville Convertible finished in classic Sierra Gold with a Sandalwood soft top over a Sandalwood leather interior. a 429ci V8 Engine and backed by a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission. It is believed to be a 4-owner car from Santa Barbara, CA. This classic features; power steering, power brakes, courtesy lights, electric clock, cornering lights, remote control outside mirror, telescopic/tilt steering wheel, leather, automatic climate control, A/C, power door locks and windows, power headlight control, twilight sentinel,...AM/FM radio, and a power front bench seat. This is a gorgeous example that underwent a comprehensive restoration from 2002-2004. The body restoration was performed in Montana by Missoula Body Works, re-skinned seats with added inserts were crafted by 9 Mile Motors. Engine work was done by 9 Mile Motors and included; rod bearings, oil pump, timing chain and gears, new valve springs, valve guides, rings, cam and lifter, cam bearings, and all gaskets and seals. They also added new brake hoses (front and rear), master cylinder, shoes, front wheel seals, new tires, and more. A new battery and comfort control vacuum lines were installed in September and October of 2018. Performance Prep in Federal Way did the most recent service on 11/07/18 that consisted of an A/C recharge and choke adjustment for the idle. Registrations from 1965 to present are included with purchase, as are; service records, Protect-O-Plate, original owner's manual, shop manuals, service booklet, 3 keys, spare tire, jack, and boot. This Cadillac was originally delivered and purchased new at Tom Williams Olds-Cad in Santa Barbara, CA. In 1966 it went from Santa Barbara, CA to Montana. Plenty of love and pampering has been given to this drop top classic. Showing in outstanding condition throughout, this Cadillac represents the class and luxury that emanates from General Motors most luxurious brand. With a powerful engine capable of effortlessly cruising down the road and an interior that was unmatched in its comfort and looks, the Deville is a must have. The name "DeVille" is derived from the French de la ville or de ville meaning "of the town". The first Cadillac "Coupe de Ville" was shown during the 1949 Motorama. The DeVille was redesigned for 1965 but rode on the same 129.5" wheelbase. Tailfins were canted slightly downward, and sharp, distinct body lines replaced the rounded look. Also new were a straight rear bumper and vertical lamp clusters. The headlight pairs switched from horizontal to vertical, thus permitting a wider grille. Curved frameless side windows appeared, and convertibles acquired tempered glass backlights. New standard features included lamps for luggage, glove and rear passenger compartments and front and rear safety belts.
