Six passenger convertible! There are just aren't many convertibles in the world that can seat 6 people. Take five of your friends and/or family with you for some fun in the sun! You'll get lots of smiles and waves from other drivers, people love to see a bit of the nostalgia on the road. I take it out on the weekend with the wife and kids and we have a great time.
This is a 46 year old car, I was concerned about the reliability of the engine and mechanicals. The previous owner did a thorough mechanical restoration, of which i have many pictures. The original engine was rebuilt and restored to the condition you see it now (with two more years on it). I felt very comfortable buying this car because I could tell the rebuild had been done well. In his shop he was working on some other rare Italian and English cars, so I felt comfortable the work had been done well. He had rebuilt the car for his father. When his father passed away he needed to sell it, and I was fortunate to buy it. He also gave me the shop manual and several other original documents for the car.
I've added electronic points, to gain a little more power from the 472 cubic inch engine. I've put on 4 brand new tires. I use synthetic oil in the car. Also the previous owner told me he had put in hardened valves when rebuilding to be able to use unleaded fuel, as it was originally built for leaded fuel. He also said it purchased the car in Arizona and shipped it home. Its a big car and backing into parking spaces was a bit nerve racking so I've installed a passenger side mirror with remote cable, its off a 1971 Deville but the classic car restorer I had do it, made it look factory installed.
This car is very powerful. It will keep up with any modern family car and does 70mph on the highway with ease. Shifts smoothly, the A/C works and blows cold, but I rarely use it as the top is almost always down, even in the garage. The car is in very good condition for a 46 year old car but it is not a show car.
