Overview:
Here is an absolutely amazing find! This is a super rare and very highly desirable 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Seville 2dr HT in great condition inside and out. It is a mostly original survivor with the exception of one repaint done, reportedly in 1960. Due to being a mostly original car, its does have light patina to it upon close inspection but yet still shows wonderfully. It makes a great presentation in person and at shows and is a great driver. In a lot of respects, these original type cars are better cars then restored ones, as they have not been messed with much or changed. It has been recently, completely gone through mechanically and very well detailed. It is an excellent driver and runs like a top!
Now for the really good stuff! This '59 Caddy is also known as "The Marilyn Monroe Cadillac". This history and story has been with this Cadillac for decades. We have no hard documentation to prove this story but also no one has ever put the time in to prove this cars History to be 100% true. With some time and effort, if someone could prove this cars legacy and history with hard documentation, you would hit the lottery with a piece of American Movie, baseball and Automotive History. And the value of this car would sky rocket. For the recent decades this car has been in the hands of car collectors, only owning the car for being rare by itself, not because of the cars history that has been with this car for decades.
With that being said, here is this cars prominence and undocumented, reported history. This car was bought by Joe DiMaggio, as a gift for his then wife, Marilyn Monroe. Before giving her the car. On June 14, 1960 he had the king of customizers, George Barris of Barris Kustoms in Hollywood, CA, paint this car a special gold metallic and added gold sabre wheels to match one of Marilyn's famous gold outfits. He then gifted this '59 Seville to Marilyn Monroe. After Marilyn's death the car was acquired by Joe DiMaggio's brother, Vince DeMaggio who kept the car until 1965. It was reported, Vince sold the car to a fan that kept it for years. As far as I can go back is that the car was part of the Phil Maloof collection for many years of the Coolers Brewing empire. The car then went to a collector in Hawaii for many years, to a classic car dealer in Missouri, to its most recent home, a Cadillac collector in Europe, specifically Austria. The current owner of the vehicle is a great customer and friend of ours and asked us to assist him in the selling of this amazing vehicle. I myself have seen this car in person to be able to give an accurate description of it. The car is currently located in Graz, Austria. We can help assist in shipping this vehicle anywhere in the world, even back the US.

Exterior:
This Caddy shows great as a wonderful piece of history with some light patina. It was, according to its history, last painted in 1960. So the paint is showing its age with some chips that have been touched up, minor cracking and crazing upon close inspection. This is shown in the photos. If you can document the cars history, I would leave the paint alone and preserve it, as this could be a genuine George Barris paint job. This was an original Persian Sand car from the factory, which was a sunning color also. The body on the car is solid as a rock, rust free and was always stored indoors. All the chrome and trim is in excellent original condition and still shows excellent. The gold sabre wheels are no longer with the car but it does have its original wheels and Eldorado hubcaps that are in great condition and have new wide white wall radial tires.
Interior:
The all original interior still shows excellent and was very well preserved. The seats were preserved in clear plastic covers for decades. The original dash pad is very nice with minor shrinkage. All the gauges and interior chrome are clean and bright. It has a mint steering wheel and perfect horn ring. Everything in the car is in great working order. Anything it needed was repaired. Inside the trunk was nicely finished off. It would be amazing to possibly sit where one of the most famous women in history and one of the most famous baseball players in history have once sat and even in the original seats!!!
Mechanically:
The car runs and drives excellent. It has its original 390ci 345hp V8 engine with tri power. Under the hood is all stock and clean, nicely detailed and still has its original air cleaner and air ride, air pump. The current owner of the car recently spent thousands on it, making it an excellent reliable driver. A list of what has been done or rebuilt includes the brakes, brake lines, suspension bushings, steering gear box, new springs, new exhaust system, etc. Basically everything needed to make it run and drive excellent. It is currently, turnkey ready to drive and enjoy!
