Introduced in 1971, the Cadillac 60 Special was a full size luxury car which had one of the most spacious interiors of any car in the world. Weighing in at an impressive 5,000 lbs, the standard model including reading lamps, automatic level control, dual comfort front seats and more. RWD and a stout frame meant that the cars were extremely durable and were even rated to tow up to 7,000 lbs. While offered in the popular 4-door sedan bodystyle, some... customers desired more space but they had to turn to aftermarket companies. Very few wagons were made by just a few companies and very little is known about them. GR Auto Gallery is pleased to bring this unique 1974 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham 60 special wagon to the market. Due to a number of exterior and interior modifications, the conversion is believed to have been completed by Wisco, a Michigan based coachbuilder, however not much is known other than that. Some sources claim there are less than a dozen wagon conversions produced by this company, although we have no proof to back it up. There is a dashboard plaque that says the vehicle was custom made for a Renee Levin, who, according to the internet was a well loved equestrion who lived in Michigan. This adds a bit of mystique to the vehicle's history. Equipped with the standard 472cid V8 and 3-speed TH400 automatic, this is pretty standard mechanically. The exterior is in decent shape, with a pretty straight body. The brown metallic paint is in good shape but has the random imperfections and a few bubbles. Underneath shows some corrosion and areas that will need to be addressed in near future. The tan padded vinyl top is in great shape and features a chrome roof rack. 15in whitewall tires are mounted on factory wheels with wire wheel covers. The chrome trim is in decent shape and the large "El Clasico" grill and hood ornament are custom from the coach builder. The tan interior is pretty much factory and features leather seating for 8. The seats are in great shape but the driver's does have a rip. The dash is crack free and there are a number of custom trim upgrades. The car is equipped with cruise control, power windows, power seats, power sunroof, power locks, and air conditioning. These wagons are extremely rare and this is the first that GRAG has had the pleasure of offering. A solid driver, this car can be an excellent and unique daily driver or the perfect candidate for a restoration. The possibilities are endless for this unique American land yacht!
