Overview Of Entire Vehicle: *Condition #3+ (Amazing Original Survivor)

Here is an absolutely amazing find, an ultra rare 1955 Cadillac Fleetwood Series 60 Special. This was the top of the line Cadillac back in 1955. It was bought new by a Dr. Philip Mugler who was Chief of Psychiatry at the Atascadero State Hospital in Atascadero, CA. He purchased this car new at Standard Motors & Equipment Corp in San Luis Obispo, CA in May of 1955. The original Cadillac Identification Card is still under the hood with the original owners name to this day. The original owner owned this car all the way until November of 1984 when he passed. The car was then inherited by his brother who then sold the car to the second owner who owned the car all the way up until 2018. The car was then sold to the 3rd owner who was a Cadillac LaSalle Club member. He kept the car for almost a year when he then traded it in to us on a 1961 Cadillac that he used to own and had sentimental value with. This is a truly amazing car and a true survivor as it has almost all original paint, chrome, trim and all original interior. It is absolutely beautiful and only has 67k actual miles. It runs and drives absolutely amazing and is one fo the nicest driving 50's Cadillacs we have ever had and that is the honest truth. It was ordered in gorgeous Green Mist Metallic and Arlington Green Metallic for the top with ultra rare Beige Checker Pattern cloth and Copper leather Interior. We doubt you'll ever see another one with this combination. This car stayed in California its entire life up to 2018 and has great maintenance records going all the way back to the 80's. It has been gone through completely front to back and checked out recently with brand new tires and a tune-up and is 100% ready to be enjoyed.

Exterior: *Condition #3+

The exterior of this Cadillac looks absolutely stunning, finished in Green Mist Metallic w/Arlington Green Metallic top, with a super straight body and excellent fit and finish throughout. This car has never been taken apart and retains most of its original paint believe it or not. Upon close inspection there a few chips that have been touched up and a few flaws here and there but you have to be really looking for them. If you watch the video we go over everything in detail and really show you but overall the car presents absolutely amazing. All of the chrome and trim on the car is original and again there are a few spots that show a little patina but overall it is in incredible condition and shines beautifully. All the gold emblems look gorgeous, the plastic crests are beautiful and all the original glass is crystal clear. It is a very well cared for and taken care of Cadillac its whole life and it really shows.

Interior: *Condition #3+

The interior in this Cadillac is incredible and is 100% original right down to the original carpet. It was ordered in ultra rare Beige Checker Pattern cloth and Copper Leather and it is stunning. The interior has truly stood the test of time and is very clean, supple and nice throughout. There is a little patina here and there but again it has really stood the test of time and looks amazing. All of the brightwork in the interior is in amazing condition and shines wonderfully. The dash and gauge cluster are fantastic and the steering wheel and horn ring look like new. Everything works in the car including the horn, directionals, gauges, heater/defroster, wipers, power windows, and power seat except for the power antenna and the clock. Inside the trunk is all original and in excellent condition. The material has a few little stains in it from over the years but again just adds a little character to the car. The original jack, spare and jack instructions are all there and the weatherstripping is still soft and supple.

Mechanically: *Condition #2

Mechanically this Cadillac is in stellar condition and runs like a top. It is powered by its original 331ci 4bbl V8 engine and automatic transmission. It purrs like a kitten and truly runs and drives amazing. Under the hood is original, correct and very clean. The car has an extensive maintenance history to it that was documented by the previous owners. In 2018 is was completely gone through front to back and checked throughout. Anything that was needed was done including fluids a tune-up and installing brand new $1000 Coker wide white wall pie-cut radial tires. It does have a new exhaust system on it that sounds great and quiet like it should. The suspension is nice and tight, turns tight, and the brakes stop excellent and straight. The previous owner made sure that this car was setup to take to any car show and tours. This car needs absolutely nothing mechanically and is ready to drive immediately.

Under Carriage: *Condition #3

The underside of this Cadillac is very clean and solid. It has never been detailed or taken apart and looks like how a low mileage Cadillac should that has been left alone. It has been a California car its entire life and so the floors are solid as a rock and the frame is solid as a rock. The bushings are nice and clean and it sports a new exhaust system. The car is 99% rust-free as there are a couple tiny rust-spots under the valance of the rear bumper. They are not major and can be easily fixed if you wanted to do so. The rest of the underside is solid as a rock and even has its original rubber grommets and drain plugs. Overall just what you would expect to see from a well taken care of car is a dry climate.
