Up for consideration is a very special 1971 Buick Riviera. This car was built in Flint Michigan and purchased new by a gentleman by the name of Dennis. Dennis had started a family and traded in his Corvette for it at Tom Mitchell Buick on 3260 Peachtree Street in Atlanta Georgia. Dennis then relocated to Oskaloosa Iowa where he began a company by the name of Pamco Inc. He stored his Riviera for the past 20 or so years in one of his company’s climate controlled warehouses. The car was run and driven on occasion from that point on. Dennis was the one and only owner of the car until I purchased it from him in 2015. As of this writing, this beautiful Riviera has only done 97,425 miles.
This Riviera wears the majority of its original paint, with some natural patina and a few touchups here and there. The color is Pearle Beige. The interior is in beautiful shape, upholstered in original Sandalwood vinyl. The armrests show a little wear in the usual spots, as a lot of the boat tail Rivieras do.
The drivetrain is all original, never rebuilt, and is mechanically sound. It has the original 455 V8 with the original Quadrajet 4-barrel carburetor. The exhaust system is original with the exception of new mufflers. Since I've owned the car, I've installed various new parts to ensure the vehicle is reliable and roadworthy. I love driving and any car I own just gets better the longer I own it. Since the car spent a lot of time vacationing in a warehouse, I had the fuel tank professionally flushed, cleaned, and sealed and installed a new fuel sending unit and fuel pump. It also has a new radiator, all new steering components, new belts and fluids, a new distributor, a fresh oil change, new mufflers, 5 new wide white wall tires including matching spare, a front end alignment, and a professional tuneup. This car has been looked over and serviced and is turn-key ready. I would trust it to drive anywhere.
The suspension is all original, even original shocks, so this car rides just like it did in 1971. And that means a healthy and enjoyable combination of luxury and muscle car. The car tracks straight and true, no vibration or drama at any speed. It's smooth, powerful, and very quiet on the highway. The brakes are spot on and require no service. No pulling or undesirable shakes or shimmies.
The car comes with a ton of receipts and paperwork. I even have the original Buick Protect-O-Plate for the car. This car has power windows and power seats that all work great. All the exterior and interior lights work perfectly. The windshield wipers and horn work great. The heater works very nicely. The car has cruise control and AC, but at this time they do not function although all the original AC equipment is in place. All dash gauges work perfectly.
I am a private seller with a clear Wisconsin title in my name. The car is located in Madison. I am looking to sell this classic to somebody who will truly appreciate it for what it is. Please, no solicitors or scammers. I do not need or want help selling the vehicle.
