Beautiful 1954 Buick 2 Door HT. Car was purchased in 1989 and was a project that took several years. This was a very straight rust-free car. Paint is very good, I would give it an 8, it's not perfect but definitely nice enough to show but not so nice that you would be afraid to drive it. Bumpers are excellent, Mouldings are very nice, grille has two teeth that are cracked but they are barely noticeable. I can't stress how nice the interior is, it is incredible. The fit and detail is show quality. The finish and detail on the dash is excellent even the trunk is very nice. The steering column is a 1981 Eldorado with tilt. Car is equipped with power steering, power brakes, power windows, and air conditioning (AC is brand new and has yet to even be charged)
NOW FOR THE INTERESTING PART! The car is on a 1981 eldorado chassis, so yes, it is FWD. The transmission and all of the suspension has been rebuilt.
The engine is a freshly rebuilt 427 big block Chevrolet. Car has been driven less than 500 miles since it has been finished.
Upon inspection of the undercarriage, it is surprising how well the body fit the frame. The conversion was very well done, and the car is very solid. no visible rust issues and no signs of repairs. The engine runs good, transmission shifts properly, power steering and brakes work great.
There are a few minor issues, the gas gauge, temp gauge and dash lights don't work and there isn't a radio antenna. I would recommend a motorcycle antenna that is designed to be hidden in the fairing and position it under the dash.
My only criticism of the car is that it currently doesn't drive very well. The car has bias ply tires and I believe that a front-end alignment and some new radial tires would make a huge difference. Would be a fun car to show, it is unique enough and nice enough to certainly draw a lot of attention and an inexpensive way to get into and enjoy the hobby in a very unique car.
