1954 Buick Special COUPE Additional Info:
Up for auction is this Beautiful 1954 Buick Special Riviera 2 door hard top. This was a former show car in our area that I sold a little over 25 years ago. It has an upgrade on the drive line which is for the better. It now has a mid 60's 401 V-8 Wild Cat engine with turbo 400 auto tran, a regular drive shaft, and a leaf spring riviera rear end. What a difference in the drive ability. It handlesa lot better and goes real good. I have receipts and pictures of the motor being completely redone. A lot of other components were done at the same time. Such as radiator, transmission cooler, ps, pb, fresh dual exhaust system, etc. Most of the chrome was redon, stainless is in nice shape and an expensiveset of Dayton wire wheels were added. Has a set of dummy spot light, red lights that light up in the venta ports, and dual frenched in antennas for that custom touch. The interior is in very nice condition. The body on the car is rock solid and straight down both sides. It did have a set of inner rockers replaced back in the day. Floors frame and trunk are all solid. The paint on the car is nice and vibrant but on the far ends of the rear quarters the paint looks a tad thin. Possibly from buffing. If you can fault the car for anything there is a slight vacuumleak in the carb. When you pull the hand choke the car starts right up and runs fine but when you push in the choke the carb tends to surge . It acts like it wants to stall but give it a little more choke and it comes out of it. Doesn't bother at all drivingdown the road .Just a great looking classic car to drive enjoy and take the family out for a weekend drive. We have a Maine transferable registration and proper paper work for a smooth transaction. We require a $500 dollar non refundable deposit at the close of auction and balance to be paid within 3 days of auctions end.
