1969 Buick Skylark Additional Info:
1969 Buick Skylark selling at No Reserve
I purchased this car in Arizona about a year ago on Ebay with plans to lower to original height and trailered it home.
Due to too many projects and too little garage space, she's back on the market.
I must say that this car gets tons of attention everywhere it goes. People flock to it and want to get their picture taken with it.Great attention getting display for a business!
I say display because it handles and rides about as well as one might expect with the redonkulous lift that doesn't look like the work of a skilled professional. I drove around town a few times when I first got it. Since then its been sitting in my garage.
I put a new battery in it a couple of weeks ago and got it running. It does have a tank full of stale gas but starts and runs.
The car has a stock looking 2 barrel 350 V8 engine and automatic transmission that seems to shift fine. It has dual exhaust.Someone has installed an electric cooling fan.It also has 28 inch wheels and tires. It has custom interior as seen in photos that is in pretty nice condition. There is an aftermarket stereo mounted below the dash with a remote control, some 6x9 speakers in rear side panels, anda dual sub box in the trunk. There is some sort of aftermarket alarm on the car with siren and keyfob control.
The best thing about this car is that the body is solid. The lift makes it easy to inspect the bottom side and everything looks solid.no sign of rot.
My plan was to take the money I would save by not having any rust repair necessary and use it to install aftermarket performance suspension and 4 wheel disc brake setup, but new owner can go whatever direction they like.
Front suspension lift is basically a big extension frame that attaches at ball joints and has extensions above coil springs.Rear has extended "control arms" and spring extensions. There are some brackets and extensions welded to the frame in a few places, but it could be returned to stock height without major modifications. Just remove what was added.
I have tried to take photos to show both the suspension and solid underside of the car.
Full disclosure here:1. Had a puff of smoke and slight valvetrain noise immediately upon startup after sitting for 11 months.2. Driver side hood hinge spring is missing.3. Hood has no latch and is held down with hood pins.4. Billet style grill is good but has no surround trim.5. Hood is missing chrome trim that runs down the middle. Had hood scoop attached with 3M tape. I removed it.6. Heater is bypassed. Was that way when I bought it.7. License plate bracket is missing from rear bumper.8. I cant get doors to lock with key. Key fits and works, doors don't lock.9. I believe the is a small star in the windshield.
Don't get me wrong, this car has many great things going for it but I also wanted to list the negatives that I'm aware of!
Clear Oklahoma title.
