1976 Buick Estate Wagon Additional Info:
For sale is my 1976 Buick Estate Wagon. This is the last of the truly large full size Buick Station wagons having been built in June of 1976 and sold new at Guenther & Langer Buick in Los Angeles California. This has to be on the finest Estate Wagons of this vintage. Being an original California car it has zero rust and is loaded with almost every conceivable option including air conditioning, power windows, power locks, tilt and telescopic steering wheel, dual 6-way 60/40 power front seats, lamp monitors, cruise control, rally wheels, dual remote sport mirrors, roof rack, power tailgate, door mounted courtesy lights and AM/FM stereo radio. Wood grain was replaced with NOS material and I have once extra NOS piece in the original GM box that comes with the car. I also had all of the moldings around the wood grain polished and repainted brown in the correct shade. I was in the process of restoring another 1976 Estate Wagon when I purchased this car in 2008 and abandoned that project when I found this car. That being said, I had an extensive inventory of NOS trim parts which I put on this car, not that it really needed it, including the grill and grill molding, headlights bezel, rally wheel centers, tail light assemblies including lenses, door edge guards, and all 4 sill plates plus more !Mechanically it features the original 455 motor and turbo 400 transmission. The engine compartment has been detailed to a high degree, and in the process I replaced the following: new water pump, full tune up including: plugs, cap, ignition module, correct A.C. Delco ignition wires and Delco battery. Exhaust manifolds resurfaced, bead blasted, new gaskets and hard ware and painted with high temp exhaust paint-NO LEAKS. New timing chain and gears, new alternator and starter, new master cylinder, all belts and vacuum hoses replaced as well, new vacuum advance and fuel pump. The transmission was recently removed, cleaned and resealed, and fully serviced and shifts beautifully. The muffler was recently replaced. Pinion seal in rear end also replaced. Brakes and tires are in excellent condition as well. All power options function as they should, even the digital clock still works and keeps perfect time. The items that do not work include the AC (needs to be recharged, but compressor does pull in), power antenna also does not work, but can be moved up and down manually. I am including another power antenna with the car that is suppose to work. Interior also in excellent condition. There are some minor cracks in the dash pad around the perforated radio speaker locations. Seats, carpet, side and door panels are excellent. Cargo area and third seat area look great as well as spare tire compartment. Bottom line this is a beautiful car! Also included is a clean title, build sheet, miscellaneous receipts. and lots of 1976 Buick literature, including owner's manual and supplements, dealer brochure and dealer's salesman hard bound catalog. Car is for sale locally and I have the right to end the auction if necessary. I am happy to answer any questions you may have, and can be reached at 203-219-2962. Ask for Eric.
