1970 Buick Skylark Additional Info:

Apollo White GSX #199. Sold new at Hansen Buick West New York, New Jersey. Wayne Roberts documentation and restored to exact specs. Of the 678 produced in 1970, this is 1 of 187 built in Apollo white. This 53k example was recently finished a 3.5 year frame off restoration by Thornton's of Teleford Pa. The paint is amazing and everything works as it should including the 40 degree A/C which still operates on R-12. Some of the interior namely the door panels and dash pad are the originals. We kept them in place as a testament to the great condition the car was in before the restoration. This car is a non stage, auto with a/c and rear defroster. All other options are standard GSX. The engine is a stage 1 block and heads, the trans is the original BA trans with the vin stamped and the rear is a sourced "00" Buick 3.42 rear. The rear spoiler is the original and the front grille was replaced with a NOS one. When the front seats went out to get recovered the installer found a fisher body sheet (hand written) in the drivers seat bottom. These have been found in other cars and call out the option codes when the trim was being assembled. The car comes with all 5 WG wheels however the restored trunk wheel is not a WG. There has been about 50 miles put on the car around town for operation purposes and to inspect the overall condition. No leaks as would be expected. When i got the car back after 3 years I was not happy with the performance and or build from Thorntons. So I tasked Nick Servo whom is known to the Buick community (and is what I consider a Buick specialist) at his Ivyland shop and GS garage to do a proper engine build to the engine and drive train. The results are amazing and I couldn't be happier now that this car performs like a GSX should. It pains me to put this car up for sale but while it was out of service I started to collect Oldsmobiles and have taken my collection in a different direction. So here it is a fresh car ready to be enjoyed driven or showed. Thanks and Good luck.
