Overall Condition
This Ultra is rust-free as it has been spared the possible harshness of winters for all of its 26 years. The whitewall tires are new from 2018 and so show no wear. The aluminium rims are in fine shape. The vehicle shows extremely well both inside and out. The tan-coloured leather interior and the carpets are virtually like new. The dash has no cracks or fading. The transmission shifts smoothly and the car accelerates with authority. Neither owner smoked in the car. Its weight (3639 lbs) and wheelbase (110.7 inches) combine for a very comfortable ride.
In short, it is ready for you to show and enjoy.
Further Condition Details
Rust-free virtually everywhere, including the shock towers, the inside edges of the trunk lid and four door inside bottoms (see pictures)
Just Shy of Showroom Condition
There are two small dints in the hood and one smaller one in the trunk lid.
Also, as is visible in one of the pictures, there is a hairline crack of about 2 inches in the front rubber bumper, driver’s side. These very minor issues could easily be repaired by a professional body shop, should the new owner so wish.
Kindly note that there is a small dent in the chrome trim on the driver’s side fender where the bumper wraps around it; however, the correct replacement part is included with the sale. Also, the air conditioning system is not presently working, although the compressor turns and a test in 2018 showed no leaks.
As noted above, there is a whining in the supercharger that does not affect the performance and the front struts should be replaced, although on a good road I didn't notice the need. Struts are of course part of normal maintenance, but I mention them here to be as thorough as I can be.
Styling
When first introduced, some automotive reviewers remarked stylistic similarities between this model and the Jaguar. This is most apparent when looking along the side of the car from either the front or the back: it is narrower at the extremes than in the middle, giving it a certain grace and no doubt adding mildly to positive automotive aerodynamics. This and other features– such as the grille and the styling of the rear end of the car – no doubt contribute to the Jaguar comparison.

Edmunds Review
Edmunds has 12 reviews on the Web for the 1993 Buick Park Avenue; the average rating is 4.9 out of 5. Some describe its 3800 V6 motor as bullet proof.
Car History
The car has only had two registered owners; first owner 1993-2016. Due to failing eyesight, he was no longer able to drive. When I purchased the car in 2016; it had about 18,650 miles (30,000). The odometer now reads 35,556 (57,222). The first owner seldom drove the Ultra, as he owned another vehicle, as do I. Built at GM’s Wintzburg, Missouri Plant for the Canadian market, the speedometer shows in kilometers on the outer circle and in miles on the inner one.
Motor Specifications and Performance
The 1993 Ultra is powered by a supercharged 3.8 litre with 205 horsepower @ 4400 rpm and 260 ft-lbs. @ 2600 rpm. Whereas turbo-charged motors often have a slight delay in response, (called turbo-lag, ifmemory serves),supercharged motors respond immediately when you press further down on the gas pedal than normal. Highway fuel consumption averages about 25 mpg (U.S.) or 30 mpg (Canadian). While super fuel is recommended by the manufacturer, some owners have opted for regular fuel without issues.
This touring sedan qualifies as a “sleeper”, that is, for most people, the car looks like it would have only average acceleration at best. But if the driver happens to floor it – either from a standstill or while cruising – the supercharger kicks in instantly and the common observer will no doubt do a double take asking: “What was that?” Of course the mature driver woulddo no such a thing, being quietly and wholly satisfied in the knowledge of what lies at the ready under the hood. More importantly, the mature pilot would avoid driving anyone to distraction.
Passenger Capacity
With its two armrests in the vertical position, the Ultra accomodates six passengers, having three factory-installed seat belts front and rear, a rare feature in today’s sedans.
Ultra Features
We provide herein a close-to-a-comprehensive list of this Ultra’s features. If we do not speak in terms of “fully-loaded”, this is because, in light of car’s age, not everyone is familiar with what “fully loaded” meant back in 1993, especially when applied to the Ultra. Moreover, a number of features which were only optional back then have now become standard, such as airbags, while numerous other options were simply not available back then (such as a back-up camera or a USB port), although several of these features can be installed with aftermarket equipment).
Amenities on this specific Ultra include:
Exterior features include:

- Trunk light
- Rust-free, immaculatetrunk floor, pictured without the mat, carpet and underlay and temporary spare

Safety check/Mechanical Inspection
As you know, if you are the successful bidder and livein the United States, you will need a transit permit from your stateof residence. As the vehicle is more than 25 years old, I am given to understand that a Certificate of Compliance (with DOT and EPA requirements) is not needed (nor is it even available from the manufacturer).
Trivia: Historical Pricing
The 1993 Buick Park Avenue Ultra four-door sedan was the flagship, top-of-the-line Buick for the year, priced well above the rest of the Buick fleet. With a suggested MSRP of $29,395 (U.S.D) - $3,355 more than the base Park Avenue - it cost more than the Buick Roadmaster Limited ($24,920) and even the Riviera ($26,230). As for the LeSabre, its MSRP was $19,935 U.S.D. This data is fromT www.NADAguides.com, owned by J.D. Power
Adjusted for inflation in 2019: the Ultra would come in at approximately U.S. $46,715, or Can. $62,475.
This motor vehicle's low mileage, condition and raritymake it a fairly uniqueoffering and purchase opportunity. This is a 26 year-old vehicle, presently registered for use and driven for leisure purposes. It is nonetheless being sold “as is” without any explicit or implicit warranty.
This vehicle is also for sale locally. I reserve the right to cancel this auction at any time should a buyer wish to purchase the vehicle at a price I found acceptable.
I have lowered the reserve by $1,000 U.S from my earlier listing of this car.
Transportation
The Ultra is presently located in the Ottawa area (on the Quebec side), about 60 miles from Ogdensburg, New York (13669). If the buyer is American and wishes to drive the Ultra home, I would be pleased to meet him/her at the border. The U.S. border authority in Ogdensburg informed me in early July 2019 that the vehicle can be imported without any fees, as it falls under the trade agreement because the Ultra was manufactured in North America. The new owner need only complete one import form at the border. Sales tax would be required in the state in which the buyer registers the car. You may wish to confirm this information before bidding, if you so wish. I only provide this as a courtesy and cannot guarantee its ongoing accuracy, as I do not represent U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).I was told thatthe process is free, fast and simple.
If you wish to contact the CBP at Ogdensburg Port of Entry, here is the number: 1 315-393-1390.
You will no doubt have noticed that I have done my utmost to describe the vehicle; I welcome any questions from serious bidders.
Thank you for your interest. Wishing you safe and happy motoring.
