1953 Buick Century Special Deluxe Additional Info:
I need to sell my 1953 Buick Special Deluxe because a new baby is on the way. This is Buick's Golden Anniversary model and it has a smooth-running, recently rebuilt 263 cu in Fireball eight-cylinder engine, Dynaflow automatic transmission, radial tires, and all new brakes. Also replaced are the front and rear stabilizers, correct 6 volt battery, generator, taillights, fresh hoses, belts, coil, starter and plug wires.
The car is a time capsule with all original trim, knobs, dash, radio, and front and back seat heaters. Because it was literally stored in a barn for years in the dry climate of the Central Valley of California, it has no frame or body rust. The rockers and doors are solid, including original aluminum step plates. The body has typical small dings and surface patina where the paint has faded, but there is nothing that would require major body work. All stainless steel and chrome trim is in place.
All window glass is present and although the side windows have cracks, they are all flat glass and easy to replace. The curved front and back windshields are great and can be used as they are. The existing 6 volt wiring looks good, but not all the gauges work- headlights, taillights, turn signals all function but would benefit from a cleaning and/or sorting out.The transmission has just been serviced with new transmission fluid, The transmission shop indicated that it would benefit from a future rebuild and I am including the parts that I purchased before I decided to sell. it, including new transmission mounts and thrust pad, seals, gaskets, etc. Also included are a seat belt kit and new set of coil springs.
Interior is very clean - great seats and headliner, probably redone within the last 10 years or so. Car has 84,700 miles on the odometer.
It would make a excellent candidate for a authentic restoration, or with a little freshening up, a driver as it is.Local pickup only. If transport is needed, buyer is responsible for making arrangements.Serious bidders only!Thank you.
