1983 BMW 3-Series Additional Info:
Listing my 1983 320IS in Hennarot Red. I consider the E-21 series the first true sports sedan that is still as much fun to drive and own as the day it was manufactured. The 320I offered excellent, tight steering, superb handling, excellent gas mileage, 27+mpg, room for four comfortably, and is overall a great driver! My bimmer is a low original mileage, IS sport series. 1983 was the last year of manufacture of this E series. The specs for this special model are:-Front Air Dam-5x5x13 Special Cross Spoke Light Alloy Rims-Sports Suspension With increased Diameter Front Stabilizer Bar and addition of a Rear Stabilizer Bar-Limited Slip Differential-Dual Operational Manual Sunroof-Recaro Sport Seats-Leather Sports Steering Wheel and Leather Gearshift Knob-Deluxe Tool Kit-Fog lightsThis original California car looks like it was always garaged, no rust anywherewith very good shine but normal wear. Main work I had done upon my purchase was to return this car steering, suspension, handling to as factory new. Front and rear end completely rebuilt using all OEM factory parts including components, bushings, boots, and all miscellaneous parts. New half shafts and their components are no longer available so they were rebuilt as new.Engine, gearbox, clutch are in excellent condition, with no oil loss from engine, no gearbox whine, and shifts are silky smooth with precise clutch.Steering and handling is precise with great driver feel and input. No power options, manual steering, brakes, windows, etc. Just a fun, reliable sports sedan.Car has had normal maintenance and upkeep and the only non original item is a top of the line Kenwood Receiver-KDC-X599 with Alpine Amps and Memphis Speakers. Bluetooth and Satellite Radio present as is hands free phone use. Great, clear audio.Car has dash cover with minor cracking near center, really can't see it unless you look. Minor wear on cloth Recaro's that I keep covered with black tape. Seats are still very firm with all adjustments functioning.Keep the car garaged and registered in Memphis Tennessee at my daughters house. Using car only for driving vacations and has never been in NY except for the radio installation and rear suspension work.Car has a very reasonable reserve, and can be viewed and driven anytime.Just replaced the battery with heavy duty interstate. All options work including air conditioning blows cold. has been updated, with slight fan noise which abates after a few minutes of use.All service records and complete documentation come with the car.I have owned many cars including a 2012 BMW 328I, which I did not like or enjoy, had electric assist steering, non manual, no road feel whatsoever, with the terrible flat run tires. Could not wait to get off that lease!Nothing drives like these first model 320I's, for the most enjoyable ride and fun you could experience. This model was the pinnacle of the 3 Series beside the M-3.Reason I am selling is that I have health issues and cannot manually shift any more. Really sucks.Michael Gelman516-982-9015
