1973 BMW 2.0.0.2.
Made In West Germany
Icon of Bavarian Engineering and Quality. Thank you for your interest in our 1973 BMW 2.0.0.2. New Line series. We've finally decided it's time to part with it and pass it on the the next owner to enjoy. Offered here in the original BMW Verona Red, repainted less than a year ago, and Black vinyl interior. I would classify her as an above average driver quality automobile. It is in great driving condition and you can be quite proud to drive it around. It is by NO means a project car. This is a turn-key driver. Nicely cared for and garage kept, it is nicely rust-free. No rust in any of the usual areas around the suspension, doors, and quarters (see photographs). Mileage indicates 31,748, may be original. Comes with nice genuine German Hella driving/fog lamps. This is the preferred model with the nicer round tail-lamps and the chrome bumpers, from 74-on the design was changed with larger impact bumbers and square tail-lamps.
Strong original matching numbers 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine, mildly upgraded with a Weber 2bbl carburetor and a stainless steel Italian ANSA exhaust. Shows good compression on all cylinders. Upgraded to electronic ignition for daily reliability as well. The Transmission is the original 4 speed Manual. Good Clutch, catches nicely with no slip. All gears pass through as they should. Brakes are servo-assisted and the car brakes true and straight. Steering is accurate and precise, suspension is tight and rattle free. The body is nice and straight, no rust to be found. Solid structures and rubberized under-body for rust prevention. Paint shines nicely, there are a few blemishes, swirls, and scratches but nothing major. Overall in very good to excellent condition. Chrome and aluminum fittings are in nice condition, some aging does show, they're not perfect, but also still very presentable. Some of the rubber bumper trim on the driver side rear corner has shrunk a bit with age as shown in the pictures. The washers don't work, but otherwise I think that's it.
The interior is in very nice to great condition. The seats are original and hardly show any use, minor wear and tear as expected. Rear and passenger seats are like new, the driver's seat is good, some seams had to be repaired but hardly noticeable. Original BMW factory "Coco Floor Mats" come with the car. The headliner is good, doesn't sag. But does have some stains around the sunroof area. All windows, vents, and sunroof fully functional. All headlights, tail lights, and blinkers are working as well. One main crack on the vinyl dashboard in the bezel to windshield corner, seems typical of these cars. Otherwise no other present damage. Has an older Alpine deck and cassette player, works... mostly. Comes with two sets of keys and the original Owner's manual and original BMW maintenance booklet. Had a folder with maintenance work but I can't seem to locate it right now. Thank you again for viewing our car! It really is a blast to drive, Lots of pep and great handling. Excellent build Quality and very well engineered. It's amazing how modern to drive these cars are, considering they were designed over 50 years ago! We always get tons of compliments anytime we drive it. A classic car really does bring a smile to your face, and everyone else's.
