The 1976 BMW 2002 is a classic coupe with a sleek black interior and stylish blue exterior. With only 2 previous owners and less than 900 miles on the new motor, this collector's car is sure to turn heads. Featuring a 5 speed manual transmission, 6 cylinders, and 165ish horsepower, this BMW offers a smooth and powerful driving experience. Equipped with alloy wheels and a clean vehicle title, this 2-door vehicle is a must-have for any car enthusiast looking to add a piece of automotive history to their collection.
New rebuilt M20b25 (by Terry Sayther Automotive - 2002 specialist in Austin)conversion with 5 speed transmission and short throw shifter, new paint to original Fjord Blue with added “smoke metallic”, euro signal lights added and side marker lights deleted, Delete all body chrome trim and side molding, welded and sealed, front bumper delete, euro fiberglass rear bumper, Porsche Corbeau seats, center console delete, Momo prototypo steering wheel, fuel pump kill switch wired to “rear defroster” as secret ignition, all new gaskets at all openings, all new brake lines, new fuel pump, battery relocate to trunk, new sound proofing, new carpet kit, new headliner, new door panel backing reskinned, new period correct side mirrors, and soooo many other little touches.Enjoying the 165 ish HP and 5 speed driving!Fires up, runs smooth and is so much fun to drive!
It’s a vintage car with some of the original vintage things - window roll down is sticky and needs to be addressed, no leaks NO RUST - the only rust was repaired by replacing drivers side floor pan/welded/sealed/undercoated, missing spare tire, removed visors and rear view when new headliner went in, antennae is not attached to anything as all radio components removed(I use a Bluetooth speaker in backseat). Speedo was disconnected when motor swapped(I use a GPS Speedo), but all other gauges work great with backlights. Needs drivers side lock cylinder, but all other locks work(passenger door, gas cap, and trunk). So its not a perfect showroom car, but is exceptional in its condition.
Bought it for $5000 in 2015, put $20,000 + into it making a superb mechanical 2002 and at least $5k into bringing it back to life with paint, trim, wheels & tires, and interior. I hate to see it go, but its ready to be daily driven at high RPM!
