Heritage Gruppe is proud to offer this 1974 BMW 2002tii for sale on behalf of our client. This 2002tii has undergone an extensive and meticulous 10-year-long restoration under the previous ownership. This restoration was a true passion project that had to be reluctantly parted with, accompanied by tears and a broken heart.
According to the current seller, the previous owner was a German technician with his own shop specializing in classic European cars. He purchased this 2002tii as a project to restore and enjoy. However, due to limited time to work on the car and the desire to achieve the highest quality job possible, it took 10 years to complete the entire project. After enjoying the car for a brief period, he was forced to sell it, and since then, it has been in the possession of the current owner.
During the current ownership period, the seller has performed minor upkeep to ensure the car drives and looks its best. Recently replaced parts in the last 5 months include a tune-up with new spark plugs, filters, and oil, a new battery, Ansa muffler, Bilstein shocks, AST lowering springs, ST sway bars, updated LED headlights, Euro turn signals, 15" Rota wheels (Alpina style), and new Yokohama Advan tires. This BMW 2002tii remains in pristine condition and is primarily kept in a garage and only taken out for short drives or occasional car shows. It features a vibrant red exterior, black leather upholstery, and is powered by a 2.0-liter inline-four engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission from an E21. The five-digit odometer shows 54,560 miles, and all electronics, switches, and gauges are in working order. The 2.0-liter M10 engine features factory fuel injection and was rated to produce 125 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a five-speed manual transmission.
This 02 is sure to grab the attention of enthusiasts wherever it goes. The wheels have been upgraded to 15" Rota wheels Alpina style, paired with 195/50 Yokohama Advan Felva tires. The brakes on the car are handled by OEM front tii discs and calipers, and rear drums. Fuel delivery on this M10 engine is handled by the factory fuel injection system which was overhauled. The repainted Verona red exterior is complemented by bright chrome trim and European bumpers, a single chrome side mirror, front vent windows, square taillights, and a single exhaust outlet. This 2002tii comes with a clean California title in the seller's name.
The cabin is equipped with fully functional interior electronics, authentic black leather Recaro front bucket seats, and a rear bench trimmed in black leather upholstery with matching black door panels. Additional features include an analog clock, three-point front seat belts, a heater and defroster, and wooden shift knob. Although the stereo and speakers have been removed, the wiring is still intact, in case the next owner would like to add a stereo. A small tear is noted in the driver's seat leather headrest, and there are minor cracks on the original dashboard; however, the interior remains in pristine condition.
An original four-spoke steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation, including a 120-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary gauges.
